Long time lurker finally chiming in.

I just got the Titan PCC bundle from totally wicked, and I've got a few questions. I seem to remember my DSE901 being a lot more...lenient when it came to trying new flavors. A drop or two on the atomizer followed by a cartridge filled up with whatever new flavor I was trying was usually enough to clear out the taste of my previous e-juice, which was more often than not TW Camel.

With the 510, I can taste the old flavor even after I've finished an entire cartridge of something else. For example, I just got a big order in from HealthCabin, and I've been using their 18mg Kent e-juice for a couple of days. I don't know if it's just me, or if all the tobacco flavored juices taste nearly identical, but it just tastes like a milder version of the DeKang Camel e-juice. Not that I'm complaining, I love it.

I just tried a clove cartridge, and the atomizer **** itself for nearly 10 minutes, all I could get was the light on the battery slowly turning off after less than a second of vaping (and no vape). One entire cartridge and a couple drops of Kent later, and I can still taste the clove e-juice, which tastes nothing like kreteks might I add.

I've been vaping that same old bottle of TW Camel with my new 510 and it's even better than it was with the 901. The atomizer doesn't cut me off nearly as much (my friends ALWAYS comment that I smoke faster than they do. I can smoke two analogs before they're done with one, and I'm not a chainsmoker) but when it does, it REALLY cuts me off. Cooling the 901 atomizer down by blowing on it was usually enough to get it going again. The 510 atomizer gives up for about ten minutes. Is it because I have one of the "older" gold band atomizers?

I hear from clove vapers that they keep one atty DEDICATED to clove because the flavor is so overwhelming it sort of permeates the atty and unless you do an alcohol or soda cleanse... the taste will linger.
I guess that's understandable. Eugenol (it's in cloves, should be in clove e-juice if it's "authentic") is strong as hell, some people use it for tooth pain and you can't even wash the smell out. Makes sense too, since if I smoke a clove analog I'll smell like one until the next day.
It doesn't explain why I can, or could before the clove e-juice, taste TW Camel from the one or two carts I vaped before I got the DeKang Kent. Unless tobacco e-juices really do just taste similar, but the Kent e-juice tastes nothing like Kents. Neither the Lorilard Kents they sell here in the States, or the BAT Kents that I love overseas. Camel e-juice tastes A LOT like JTI's Camels overseas, but very little like the RJ Reynolds Camels here in the states. Come to think of it, DeKang Camel, DeKang Kent, and TW Camel all taste the same to me. Is it because I'm still smoking analogs and don't have my sense of smell or taste back yet?

What does everyone recommend as far as "clearing my atomizer's palate", for lack of a better term, in between flavors. I can't exactly feed it ginger or make it sniff coffee beans :D

Don't mean to add to your spending on devices but one solution I really like is testing out new flavors with the Nebula/VaporKing cartomizers with their own built in atomizers in the cart. That way you can relatively inexpensively devote carts to individual flavors. Here's the really good part. The carts work on the 901 batteries I believe. I know my Nebula and VaporKing batteries also work with my 901 atomizers.

Hey Sheik not sure about the flavour aspect but I too have one of the gold atomizer (are they old?). Anyway my Titan has been sporadic in its effectiveness but I think I've realized the problem is the atty clogging up. I stick a tissue in it and it vapes way better after that. Just curious does anyone else have this problem?
stick atissue in where?

and clove will take over an atomizer

Not sure of the difference between the Titan and the Joy(I have) but I have not experienced the aftertaste issue. Maybe it is the cloves. Usually a quick blow out... a couple of drops of juice and a new cart does the trick.

I think I understand the tissue issue. When I blow out my atty, I screw up a piece of paper towel and insert it into the open mouth of the atty before blowing. I have also been known to let them drain overnight like this, (paper towel in, propped up against something) seems to do a better job.

P.S. Was thinking of trying the clove.... guess not.
