So two weeks ago I was driving down the street with a few friends just taking hits from my vape. Out of no where someone pulls up next to me and tells over "I'M CALLING THE COPS ON YOU!!! IM GONNA CALL THE POLICE!" It was the stupidest thing that has ever happened to me! The police did come and nothing happened. Has anyone had an experience with the police or ignorant people?

CASAA - The Consumer Advocates for Smoke-free Alternatives Association print out some material and keep it n your car. Be careful and respectful..

This is a great way to handle these situations. People are going to see one thing and assume one thing. Educating people that think you're doing an illegal activity is the best way to spread the word about vaping to people unfamiliar with it. Like Nacon said, you're gonna win some and you're going to lose some so you just need to no when to turn and walk away before you really start to come off the wrong the way.

How did they react when they arrived? Did they have any knowledge of what your equipment was used for, or what vaping was in general?

Sorry to hear your story. That's precisely why we all need to Vape in public whenever it's okay. I'm not saying being obnoxious and vaping where you shouldn't smoke, but let people see it and get used to seeing it. I went to dinner tonight at an outside patio restaurant that allows smoking. One woman came up and asked what we were using. Others sort of look at you in wonder. Believe it or not, alot don't even notice what you are doing. I think it's important for people to see us vaping in public because then they figure its okay or we wouldn't be doing it in public. Lol. Spread the word! Vape proud! :)

See, thats a great mindset. We really need people seeing us vape and getting used to vapers. The more educated the public the better.

Yea, actually we met an older couple a few weeks ago at the same restaurant that had just bought an ecig and they both came out to our vape meet. :) It's great to meet fellow vapers. The word is spreading really fast in our area so it is very important to vape in front of people and let them see it, ask their questions, get used to the whole process :) I even have business cards I give people about our vape meets. LOL. Hey, when you get my age, you really don't care what they think of you. ha!

Vapers shouldn't hide. There's nothing to be ashamed of. Vapers feel like people are watching them. Take your big mod outside and vape it in front of as many people as possible. That's the least we can all do as vapers to help promote and support vaping. My exterminator and cleaning lady already know about it cause they see all my stuff in my house. ha! They probably think I'm nuts but that's okay. lol. They probably think I'm doing drugs. LOL.

I was going to be surprised someone would do that until I saw where you reside.

I have been a police officer for 14 years and some mods and parts of Mods do kind of resemble devices used to smoke .......... However, in order to be charged with drug instruments, it has to be proven that's what it's used for. As far as confiscation, go to the department and ask to get your property back. Any property we find or conficaste has to be logged into property. We cannot destroy it immediately unless the evidence is perishable (food).

I showed my fellow officers and supervisiors my equipment so they knew what it was.
