MK, I don't mean to laugh at someone else's troubles, but he got run over by a turtle? You'd think the greyhound would have gotten to him 1st.

I went by my friends house to take her some snacks my son and I made. Her hubby was covering bandages with a bag so he could take a shower. I asked what happened! It seems their dog (an ex racing greyhound rescue) was barking like mad and darting back and forth around their back fence. So her hubby goes out for a look and sees a gopher turtle stuck half in and half out of a broken place in the fence. His hind leg was nipped by the dog and he was paddling like crazy to get out. So her hubby goes around to the other side of the fence with a small saw to release this paniced turtle. Sucess! But as soon as the turtle is free it goes straight for her hubby..he jumps back and falls and the turtle scratches his arm up climbing over it to get to the field beyond.
He said a charging turtle is scary! LOL I wish I could have seen it! Gopher turtles are the race cars of turtles..but still a turtle!

Ole is the pastor of the local Norwegian Lutheran Church and Pastor Sven is the minister of the Swedish Covenant Church across the road.

One day they are seen pounding a sign into the ground, which said:

DA END ISS NEAR!
TURN YERSELF AROUNT NOW
BAFOR IT ISS TOO LATE!

As a car speeds past them, the driver leans out his window and yells, “Leave people alone, you Skandihoovian religious nuts!”

From the curve they heard screeching tires and a big splash.

Shakin’ his head, Rev. Ole says “Dat's da terd one dis mornin’.”

“Yaa,” Pastor Sven agrees, then asks, “Do ya tink maybe da sign should juss say, ‘Bridge Out?’”

Who would have thunk.....

Ha ha, now that you put it that way, makes it a whole lot more funnier. Can you imagine a health report sent into an insurance company. "Cause of injury: Run over by a turtle."

I was totally insensitive..I laughed my .... off! He fell backward from the fence when the turtle got loose..it came out so fast it startled him. Then it kind of ran over him..at least one arm. I think the point was that a Gopher can take off a finger with one snap of the beak...But it's still just silly sounding!
Oh..the dog was in the house.

....funny! But really, I knew about snapping turtles but not about these; I never knew there was a turtle that could move so fast. Good thing the dog was in the house!

the water turtles with the long pointy noses are pretty speedy too...I am always picking the slimy things up in the road and taking them on across....

It really grosses me out....but they get run over....some of these things are a foot across....eeewwww...
