So, I walked into one of the only vape shops in my area to go re-stock on a few things. Now, I know I am recognized by many people at this shop. I go in enough that they should at least know my name by now. I noticed that there was only one guy working, one I haven't seen before, so I assumed he was new. I started up a conversation with him, told him what I wanted, and as expected, he asked my age. I told him nineteen(which is legal age to smoke in Utah), he then asked for my I.D, chuckled and asked if it was fake. I was surprised at this..I told him no, why do you ask? His response, "I can't sell to you. You look like you're at the most seventeen, you're too short as well. I feel very offended that you have the audacity to come in here with a fake I.D, even if it's not..I'm having a hard time believing it."-I asked for him to call his manager in, or the police just to verify. Not doing so, I called our city police and the response I got from them, "If he doesn't want to sell to you, he doesn't have to. Legal age or not, there's nothing we can do."....apfjakdjfoiwehtaihgskldn!

In short, I'm ...... and my morning is ruined for the next two hours until I can hit another smoke shop. This isn't the first time I have had problems with Utah and their rules and regulations. I don't even see why the legal age is nineteen. At eighteen, you can vote, go risk your life for you country, get taxed, etc..but heaven forbids you can have a cigarette or a drink or even buy a dang lighter..Utah.

Has anyone else had problems similar to this? I mean, I see fifteen year old go in there and not get I.D'ed because they look like their twenty-five..just irritating.

-There's my rant.

19 in Utah? The rest of the country is 18.....

Anyway, sounds like you got yourself a bone-a-fide douche..... I would certainly be sure to go back when a manager is there and report that fool. When you report him make sure you get more than just a manager. Get the numbers for their corporate office and more. Go as far up the line as you can to be sure that fool get fired.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. But it won't be too many years before you will WISH they carded you because you look too young.

The majority of us buy online and avoid issues like yours. There are plenty of reputable online suppliers who have better prices and better selection than your B & M. And no sales tax to offset the shipping charge.

Oh, believe me.. I'm waiting until the manager goes into work at five. He's my favorite, and I hope I catch the other employee before he leaves. I think the police officers response ticked me off more than anything, though. They'll still have my business, but knowing Travis(the owner), he wont tolerate an employee doing that stuff. They'll still have my business as long as that guy gets set straight or fired.
Yes, nineteen! In some county's in Washington State, it's seventeen! Utah is like the only state in the U.S where legal age for tobacco intake, etc is nineteen. It's ridiculous in my opinion.

Lol, I think I'll be good for awhile. My mother is forty three and she still looks like she's in her early twenties. The gift of some genes!

This isn't e-cig related, but is just to show you what can happen:

My daughter had accompanied us to a nice weekend trip to the beach. After we checked in to our motel we decided to go get something to eat and a couple of beers. Upon ordering the waitstaff asked to see my daughter's ID just to make sure she was over 18. Along with her ID we, as her parents, vouched for her age and she was served.

Now we all get a big kick when we think back on this, at the time our daughter was 30...

@Spider362, that's hilarious! This post wasn't very e-cig related, but it just baffles me that the hassle can be so uprooting at times. This forum is a big influence on my life lol. I've had so much support and the pleasure of meeting some wonderful souls.

I just got off the phone with Travis(the owner) and he is going to have a talk with the employee. He invited me to a smoke session this afternoon at a local hookah bar along with the other owner.-such sweet people. They both know that I started analogs when I was twelve, they know the trials I've had in the past year..and they know I can get cranky lol.

@Hokus, I had many things to say..I wasn't a happy camper ha.
