So, I walked into one of the only vape shops in my area to go re-stock on a few things. Now, I know I am recognized by many people at this shop. I go in enough that they should at least know my name by now. I noticed that there was only one guy working, one I haven't seen before, so I assumed he was new. I started up a conversation with him, told him what I wanted, and as expected, he asked my age. I told him nineteen(which is legal age to smoke in Utah), he then asked for my I.D, chuckled and asked if it was fake. I was surprised at this..I told him no, why do you ask? His response, "I can't sell to you. You look like you're at the most seventeen, you're too short as well. I feel very offended that you have the audacity to come in here with a fake I.D, even if it's not..I'm having a hard time believing it."-I asked for him to call his manager in, or the police just to verify. Not doing so, I called our city police and the response I got from them, "If he doesn't want to sell to you, he doesn't have to. Legal age or not, there's nothing we can do."....apfjakdjfoiwehtaihgskldn!

In short, I'm ...... and my morning is ruined for the next two hours until I can hit another smoke shop. This isn't the first time I have had problems with Utah and their rules and regulations. I don't even see why the legal age is nineteen. At eighteen, you can vote, go risk your life for you country, get taxed, etc..but heaven forbids you can have a cigarette or a drink or even buy a dang lighter..Utah.

Has anyone else had problems similar to this? I mean, I see fifteen year old go in there and not get I.D'ed because they look like their twenty-five..just irritating.

-There's my rant.

When I left San Diego telling people I was moving to Utah they kind of gave me weird looks, like REALLY? I seriously had no idea how bad
Utah was before I got here.

Things have gotten A LOT better in the 20 years I've lived here, mainly in SLC proper, but sometimes I dream of moving out of Utah and back to the United States.

P.S. I hope it wasn't ElectronicStix as I really like those guys.
