You got it!

Brb, walking 2200 miles. I'll be about 80lbs by the time I get there, so $40 in donuts is perfectly alright :)

Ok, I see your point, but what happened after the cop checked said "We can't do anything, if they don't wanna sale they don't have to" didn't have anything to do with the cops, if they verified they ID being real then what happened after had to do with the employee, not the cop, the cop can't go in there and make the guy sell anything to a customer he doesn't want to sell too, do you see where i'm going?

Yeah the cop verified the ID but what else can he do to make sure she gets to buy what she wants NOTHING!
Sorry the cop wasted a good 10 minutes and didn't hold a gun to the cashiers face so he would sell some gear.
Doesn't work that way..

My post had nothing at all to do with the cop other than that he verified that the salesman was wrong about her age and that her ID was legit....the salesguy was a douche...thats fine if you own the place...you can turn down cash all day...the store is there to sell product...he let his attitude rule the day and now he doesnt work there anymore. that is what should have happened given the circumstances...but I'd have canned him...

The stuff about whether or not the cop should have been called is a conversation youre having with someone else...

OK... :tumble:

You quoted my other post, It's as simple as if the guy doesn't want to make the sale then he doesn't have to. I don't know where this is going.. Maybe a Mod should close this up,

And Ravensfan Pm me your story please i'm still waiting!

See, and this is were any reason has it's pro-reasons. Like I said before, I can see both sides. But, what he did at the time and after was unprofessional. I can see where the cop is right, but then again in it shouldn't be the empoylees say above the owner, in any business. Like stated, he could have gone the extra phone call or thought things out a bit more throughly. I see everyones point, like each there is tug room. In the long run, I do agree with Spike and pretty much all that he's said.
Plus, in the moment vs business stand-point.

Even after the cop came and it was readily apparent that her ID was legit and that the guy was wrong about it? He didnt own the place. He was turning down money from a customer in a store that his employer owns. For what possible legitimate reason? What he should have said was, "sorry, I was wrong" and made a sale for the people that pay his salary. . .thats what he's there for. Thats why the "open" sign is on the door. But that's not what happened. Under those circumstances, he wouldnt need to quit. I'd have canned him.

Glad that everything worked out, seems like this kind of took care of itself in the end. Vaping is better off without that guy

As far as the cops being called - no way. There aren't enough of them to go around settling disputes about retail disagreements. Yeah, the guy was an ...... who should've sold OP her stuff. Not a case for law enforcement. Ultimately it falls back on the owner for hiring the guy in the first place, then either not training him or not training him right.

Personally, I'd really rather not hear on the news that someone was stabbed, raped, etc while the cops were settling a dispute over a coupon at Kohl's, or a toy in a happy meal at McD's.

At the end of the day, sounds like everyone from OP to dispatcher to owner did the right thing. Everyone but the (former) employee

It's STORIES, but don't hold your breath, Poncherello. I came to this forum to discuss e-cigs and get/give support to and from those that are trying to quit smoking. I'm not here to discuss law enforcement corruption. The girl was telling a story and someone had to try and make her feel like crap about misusing law enforcement. I joke about it, and you resort to schoolyard tactics. That's about all I have to say about that.

I'm 19 too and I went into vape dojo in baltimore and bought some stuff, they didn't bring anything up about age, and I look young, I'm 6 foot but I'm a stick and have that face that doesn't age past 16 lol.

I don't believe there is a law in Maryland regarding the age at which you can buy e-cigs (I'm sure they're getting to it). They're good people at Vape Dojo. I don't think they are trying to sell their products to minors. They have a real focus on getting people off cigs.

I did walk in with vamo in hand, so I can see them asking if I was trying to buy a new kit, but I guess they figured he had to get that somehow

Sorry to hear of your troubles. But it won't be too many years before you will WISH they carded you because you look too young.

The majority of us buy online and avoid issues like yours. There are plenty of reputable online suppliers who have better prices and better selection than your B & M. And no sales tax to offset the shipping charge.

I love how everyone is big on this no sales tax thing. Just because they don't make you pay it when making the purchase from another state doesn't mean you aren't obligated to by law. I guess you just skip right over the section that asks you about out of state purchases on your tax return. Not that I don't do the same thing but technically those purchases are very much taxable.
