Alrighty, couldn't really find this info (Maybe I'm just being lazy too, that could account for it.... perhaps) but I'm soon to be joining you guys in vaping nirvana, and I do have a few questions and since I've been reading this forum in particular for a few nights, I know you are a helpful group.... So, without further bluster and pomp....

1) REO grand is a gimme. If I want a VV/VW device, I have the VAMO still... but... and this is more to Rob than anyone, is it possible to get body/ door combos that I don't see listed on the site? Despite being a Texan now, I grew up in Tampa Bay, and have been, and always will be a Bucs fan... yeah, I know, I know. Is a pewter color (or barring that, a copper vein) and a metallic red a doable combo?

(I was stalking the Classies, but never had any luck, so figure I'd get what I want, as opposed to what I "can", if that makes sense....)

2) batteries, batteries, and more batteries... AW IMR, 18650, BUT do I want the protected ones? I'd assume as such, since its a pure mech mod, but still didn't see any info one way or the other on this...I just want to make sure before I grab the wrong batteries... Three is a good magic number, sound about right?

SO far, what I'm looking at would be the:
Grand (hopefully in a great color scheme!)
RM2 +some spare screws (cause, well, its FOR the REO, might as well get the perfect glass for the best beer, right?)
Mini Cartos in case my RM2 is being hateful that day. (I still have a decent amount of cartos for my carto tanks that are unpunched as well, and the thread that Statistic started for his friend was helpful on this, so thanks Stats! )
Batts
Springs (Spares never hurt to have!)
Maybe the Rebuild kit...

Look like I'm forgetting anything?

I always want to point out that the activeness and helpfulness of this forum is what made me decide to go with a REO over a provari for new shiny. Its always awesome to see a vendor taking so much time to answer questions and be helpful on the forums.. its something I didn't ever get while stalking the provari forums. And nope, not hating on the Provarinati, some great folks in there, just think that the REOnauts are gonna be a better home for me is all....

Stay Strong and vape on guys! (and thanks for all the help!!)

Hey, so with IMR batteries, you don't need to look for protected ones. I don't even know if that exists. The manganese is a less volatile chemistry, so they don't need protection circuits. Also, there is a spring in the REO Grand, and it will collapse if you get a hard short, so there's all the protection you'll need. If you are vaping mechanical, I would suggest the 1600mAh, unless you prefer a marathon vape to a consistent and hard-hitting one. :)

There have been Reonauts that wanted a certain set of colors for their new REO. Robert said to contact him, PM (redeyedancer) or his phone number is on the reosmods site. Never hurts to ask for your favs!

AW IMR= safe chemistry. They will vent instead of explode.

The rebuild kit is nice to have, but you probably won't need it for a long time! Springs are good to have around.

Button top. Nice to have, make the button feel better!

You will be on your way to the best vape you have ever had with that combo!

edit - redundancies are due to me trying to respond AND do my job at the same time :p, I'll leave my echoes of Karen below anyways, just for reiteration

As far as the colors go if Rob already does a certain color but the combo is not listed on the site then shoot him a pm and see if he has the body and door colors you are looking for. He is a super cool guy and if he has them on hand he will most likely be happy to sell you the combo you want. However he doesn't do special orders so if the color you want is something he doesn't use already then start thinking about alternatives.

A few spare springs and an RM2 are good. A rebuild kit couldn't hurt to have on hand but, especially if you are buying new, is not really necessary as these things are built like tanks... you shouldn't need to rebuild it for a loooooooong time. Xobe calls it the AK-47 of mods, lol, and he's right on the money there.

Welcome to REOville. Make yourself at home :)

Ahh, that would explain why I couldn't find any info on them then! (and as near as I can tell, they don't Pdib, hence my confusion!) SO, in theory, I could use the Efext IMR 18650 I have in the VAMO then... not that I will, but it will be nice to know I can use the AW IMR's I'll be getting in the VAMO if I need to... I thought that there were protected ones, and I saw that AW sold protected, but never realized that IMR meant they were "safer". <---**points to this point in the post to prove that I am in fact wrong more often than not**
So really, all I need to watch for is letting the battery get too low then? (sub3.5v or so?)

The VAMO has a built in cut off at around 3.3v, and I've been kinda relying on that to tell me "Hey, charge yo' stuff!", but even with it being a regulated mod, I DEFINITELY notice when it drops below the 3.6v range, the vape isn't as near as good, etc.... so at least it taught me something :)

((By the way, I really blame you, Statistic, and SUperX for getting me into the whole RBA/ dripping thing... so the REO is the logical next step to vaping nirvana! Just wanted to thank you for that guys!))

Thanks guys. You're right, Jaylo, about not wanting to overdischarge your batteries; however, you will detect a distinct drop in performance around 3.6-3.8 volts, and I don't know if you can even produce any steam by the time your battery is at unhealthy levels. (you'll want to check what that is . . . . . 2.5v? 3v?) Your Efest should work fine*; but if you have any issues with anemic vapor or misfires, you'll want to revisit the battery question. Batt nipples/tops scuffed by some mods (probably not vamo, since it doesn't screw together in a grinding fashion) can perform sub-par with the REO's pinpoint touch firing system.

Looks like you really did your research! Can't wait to hear what you think.

* I'm assuming its a button top, not a flat top battery

Somewhere out there

My gamertag way back when XBL came out was JALOSASS. That and I spent most of my life in Florida give us two things in common. Now that your gettin a REO (or 4) that makes three.

Those great REOnauts above already laid down the dirt, all I can add is if I could do it all over again, I would have ordered 2 in solid colors (white and teal in your case) in my first order them I would have a backup on day one and be able to mix up the colors between the two. That'll save ya a boat load of anxiety (and $5.80 in shipping costs) when you set out to get your next one.

You can throw an orange drip tip on them bad boys too but nothing you can do to them will make them suck as bad as my dolphins usually do.

Welcome aboard :)

This is my newbie advice.

ReoGrand
AW-IMR's are a given 1600's / 2000mah's
RM2 is a given - 2 is nice, I have a 2nd on the way.
Springs were definitely a wise move for me, I have had one collapse (coil issue, not a reo problem)
Spare juice bottles
Repair kit
Noalox
O-rings and atti screws.
Button cover I can't comment on as mine won't be here for a few days.

I love my super-t shorty tips as well but that's just my opinion.

Then you are good to go.

Welcome fellow Texan. I wasn't raised here either but I got here as quick as I could.:D I was in a vape shop/bar a few days ago and the guy behind the counter was fascinated by our reos (my son was with me). I pulled the top cap off my atty and lit her up and of course huge plumes of vapor rose up like a volcano. So he pull the top cap off of his Igo-l on top of a provari and I'll be damned if the thing wouldn't fire. It was an awkward moment. He eventually got it to fire but he is seriously considering a reo now.

My vamo tried to pick a fight with the reos. It didn't turn out well for the vamo.

Aww man, that's almost sad.. as if going up against a REO wasn't bad enough his mod wouldn't even fire. I'd have really felt a little bit bad for the guy, lol.. just a little bit.

I did feel bad for him. He's a nice kid and the only one there who knows whats what about vaping.

So, an update.. sadly, as I posted in that silly Aurora BFT thread (I can only hope those that try that "thing" realize that it is not indicative of what a REO or any other true bottom feed is capable of....), I had to put the REO off for at least two weeks.. Car needed some work done, but I did get the other stuff from RTD ordered at least. Maybe I'll luck out and catch a blem when I order....(I've yet to see a blem up, I guess they just get snatched up so fast!)

I also, of course, shamelessly plugged the REO while I was in that thread

Annnd the update:

Trigger has been pulled!!!

I went with a black wrinkle and purple door (even though it looks more of a dark dark blue- either way, it works, as I am also a Ravens fan :).
RM2 with spare screws
Spare springs
A few more bottles
O ring
Button Cover
2 of the smoktech Atties (for when the RM2 is misbehaving- decided I'd use these over the cartos)

Already have batts (AW IMR 1600) and enough wire to keep me tinkering for years now, thanks to the preemptive order from RTD.

Now its just the waiting game... hopefully Tuesday, but likely Wednesday due to the holiday...
