I was looking at the more General sections, like New Members and Model Specific, where there were some more Bloog threads. Found a link to a Poll about ecigs on WebMD, so did that. Not much of a poll, was a "yes I still smoke" "no I don't" but the response was overwhelmingly for 'no'

I couldn't answer that poll because they didn't offer a "yes, I mostly vape, and go hours and hours without a cigarette, but still sneak one occasionally, to the tune of 1-2 a day" option.

That poll is stupid.

well um... isn't that the same as their 'yes' response? Which was: Yes, I smoked a cigarette or used tobacco in the past week

Yeah, but their "yes" answer means, basically, "vaping failed and I still smoke". But cutting from two packs a day to 1-2 cigarettes is a lot more significant than that, at least to me.

FWIW, I would go and vote in the yes category. If the poll is too weighted, it will looked biased and not be considered as evidence that vaping helps. Future polls can determine "cutting back". Just a thought anyway.

Yeah... all depends on the goal of the user. I should note that the heading where the info, posts & poll was located was "smoking cessation" so they are assuming the users picked up e-cigs to quit smoking rather than to supplement.

And just out of my own curiosity, what are those 1-2 doing for you? Is it just a mental thing?

I still can't get over the "first thing in the morning" analog. Vaping just isn't doing it. I did go a couple days without, but it's not the same. I'll get over it eventually. I also tend to have one when I crack a beer in the evening, but I'll just have one and then vape. So yeah, it's mental....

I gott figure out how Toni (Nyc) got her banner to change colors like that

Go here: The Big Bad Bloog Banner Builder (Mini Edition)
Choose the last option: Randomly selected image
Enjoy.

That's my favorite "banner/ticker/whatever" thing I've ever seen. Very subtle, small, and random. Extremely cool.
