On the lighter side of life: My 14 year old daughter just banned me from posting this on facebook but she didn't say "the internet". So we're watching the rerun of Colbert making fun of Jimmy O'Fallon's ice cream from Ben and Jerry's. Colbert reads the ingredients: salty caramel and chocolate potato chip clusters, and compares it to "the pringle's man taking a dump in ice cream". I'm rolling with laughter even though I already saw it before.

Her: *laughing* ...silence... Um, I don't get it
Me: You know, pringles? Potato chips? I should haven't to explain a dump in ice cream
Her: That doesn't make sense, pringles aren't potato chips
Me: What do you think they are??
Her: It's crispy stuff
Me: Crispy potatos?
Her: No, they are crispy slices of cheddar cheese
Me: Nice one, that's funny
Her: I'm not joking... They don't taste like potatos. Are you sure?
Me: *slaps face, makes remarks about having aneurysms*
Her: What?! Are you trying to trick me again?!?
Me: Oh, <name>, please please please tell me you are joking. You've almost got me going
Her: Fine, I'm asking mom tomorrow morning
Me: Oh brother, "crispy slices of cheddar cheese". This coming from the potato chip snarfing queen... You're too funny.
Her: I always wondered why they are so salty... Are you sure?
Me: Fine, ask your mom, but you -have- to be pulling my leg. Thanks for the laugh
Her: No! How am I supposed to know these things!! Sheesh!
....few minutes later...
Her: If you are telling the truth, don't you dare post this on facebook! I'll never ever live it down! PROMISE ME.

Promise kept!

Any suggestions on how I do that? Other than not dissapearing again, that is. ;)

Okay, I'm going to take a stab at this one more time and then try to move on to other topics. I would feel more comfortable communicating this type of stuff in a PM. But the last PM's I sent you and Toni have not been responded to.

I wrote both of you separate PM's on 1/29/11 informing you of concerns I thought could be potential problems for Bloog. I discussed customer service issues and forum responses in my PM to Toni, and I mentioned the importance of a consistently reliable forum presence in my PM to you. You did respond to my 1/29 PM; Toni did not. As I have said before I was careful to make sure my comments were constructive and offered in the spirit of trying to be helpful because I wanted Bloog to be successful.

This past week I have PM'd both you and Toni again asking if you were okay, and sounding the warning as to what was going on here, and the need to respond. No response from either of you. I now know you weren't able to read mine. I know from tracking that Toni did read my recent PM.

I have many things I want to say about how to rebuild the trust and confidence of your customers, but I feel like I've already told you and Toni most of my suggestions in January when I was trying to help Bloog prevent losing it in the first place.

But I will say two things:
1) go easy on the excuses, they are wearing thin
2) at the bare minimum read, really consider, and respond to well-meant constructive PM's

This is a post I wrote a couple of days ago that I think best expresses how I've been left feeling (this was written after I tried to reach you and Toni without getting a response):

beachpuff, I couldn't agree with you more about the lack of response we are getting from Bloog representatives and owners. It has saddened me to see how poorly things are being handled by them lately on this sub-forum. I have seen the other company have just as many issues with the cs, as well as many other problems, but people who work for that company are all over it on the sub-forum, and that is sorely lacking here. It's incomprehensible to me, and that is what I have been complaining about this week, so no disagreement with you about that at all.

That's why I'm getting discouraged. I hate seeing how much damage is being done to the company's reputation because of the lack of a consistently reliable and helpful forum presence here. At least I can see some efforts on their part to improve CS. It's still lacking, but I do think they are trying to work on that. And we're beginning to see more positive comments about how well Chris is taking care of people who have had problems, much like your issues with the riv4l were handled. That needs to happen more consistently, and if it doesn't get better after a reasonable amount of time I will be complaining about that too.

However, in my opinion, the lack of consistent responses on the sub-forum is inexcusable and more damaging than they will ever know. If the regulars here are getting upset, I can only imagine how many potential new customers they have lost because of it. I fear that continuing to be silent is only making matters worse, is digging a deeper hole, and that the longer the silence goes on, the worse the damage will be. I want Bloog to be successful, and it’s frustrating to me that despite many of us trying to warn them of the danger, they continue to ignore the warnings. I’m glad Leaford has surfaced, but it’s not enough since he can’t really help with the cs issues. I just don't get what they can be thinking.

Okay, enough out of me. Time for me to start ignoring properly again......

Thank you Slim. We all know you've been trying to help both them and us, and have been frustrated by it all. I am taking a 'wait and see' stance for now. I'm glad you are with us :)
