Evie, glad to hear that you made it through mostly unscathed. We were lucky here in Georgia.

It is always inspiring to see when people set aside their barriers and work together with one another.

Wishing you all the best...

Thanks Gardner I worried about you and Analog. I just knew you lived in Georgia and he in NC. I'm glad you are okay but I'm still worried about Analog not being here. I know he has posted since the tornados but him not being here isn't normal and I'm a one who worries. I have a need to know friends are okay. I had 5 co-workers who lost their homes and 2 of those lost their lives and it took 6 days before I learned that.

It has been great meeting all the new Bloogers. I'm glad there are so many new faces here. But have ya'll not invited them here on the front porch to visit awhile.

Uh Oh..... do you think they are reading the whole thread.......they should just ignore that part and jump straight into visit.

analog is fine, he posted last week. I think he just got bored and moved on. Send him a PM if you're worried.

I PM'd him yesterday. Still isn't like him to be gone so long but I guess people will come and go from time to time.

So, this past weekend, I saw the movie "Thor". As a comic book geek from way back, I really liked it. The costumes and cosmology were fairly close to the comic book as I remember it. I thought it was a good clean story to introduce the character of Thor in preparation for the upcoming "Avenger" movie.

Though I am a little upset that Mark Ruffalo will be playing Bruce Banner instead of Ed Norton. Still haven't figured out how that happened. But I am stoked that Joss Whedon will be the director. He usually remembers that he is making it for the fans and not just an artistic expression.

But can you see him as a genius level experimental physicist?

Ed Norton pulled it off. Eric Bana didn't. And I like Eric Bana, as Hector, as Avner Kaufman.

I think in this case Mark Ruffalo was chosen for having a resemblance to Bill Bixby. I like him as an actor and like many of his movies. I am just not sure he can adequately convince me that he is capable of discovering the technology to build a gamma radiation bomb.

But I am hopeful that I will be proven wrong.

And I am REALLY surprised that Leaford did not jump into this conversation.
