If we don't get royally shafted by the powers that be in the not to distant future, what developments in atomiser technology do you foresee in the next 5-10 years say. These are the types of questions that run through my frazzled brain at the end of a hard day at work. I would think if we stick with wire coil builds, we will still see small improvements in the designs until we get to a point where we get the "perfect" vape and to be honest, were almost there now. Imagine what would happen if they started putting tech into the humble atty. We might start seeing miniature lasers or microwave emitters vaporising our e-liquid. This, I'll admit sound silly on the face of it, but considering the technology that's out there, who knows.
Do you think our devices will continue in a similar vain, with coil builds, or do you think we see a radical design change at some point.
I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.

IDK - I've heard of ceramic heating heads - haven't seen any yet though.
They suck, that's why they are not popular.

They are common in oil and dry atomizers but they haven't figured out how to adapt them for juice and still work correctly

I was hoping for a star trek reference, a fellow trekkie?
I wouldn't say I am but I do love the original. I just couldn't get into the next generation. Same way with Star Wars. I love the original 3 but not the new ones. I am looking forward to the new one with the original cast. I'm geeking over that lol

okay, we have ceramic plates, there is a new tech which involves a metal plate, lasers are pathetically inefficient in power transfer ( 70% is wasted as lost heat), induction requires another chunk of metal to be heated, microwave isnt possible at such a small scale due to the size of the magnetron needed... looks like the simple coil is the way to go, what we need is a decent wick that wont gunk up but thats all dependent on the juice one chooses... so what we need is a non gunking juice and a good wick :)
