Not using FF

Firefox is far better of a web experience in alot of people's opinion. My wife uses IE and can't get her to switch. When she complains of ads I just laugh because she knows I have told her to switch to firefox. Firefox with adblock plus and better privacy really helps get closer to that safe web experience. But like anything options are out there just some not always the best.

I know what ya are saying but not sure that is possible. Not saying you are wrong but maybe the settings inside firefox allow more connections (this is explainable but better not to confuse you more) then IE does. You could go into your wireless router settings and set QOS (quality of service) and it will balance the traffic.

What Is QoS?

Quality of Service (QoS) for networks is an industry-wide set of standards and mechanisms for ensuring high-quality performance for critical applications. By using QoS mechanisms, network administrators can use existing resources efficiently and ensure the required level of service without reactively expanding or over-provisioning their networks.

Traditionally, the concept of quality in networks meant that all network traffic was treated equally. The result was that all network traffic received the network’s best effort, with no guarantees for reliability, delay, variation in delay, or other performance characteristics. With best-effort delivery service, however, a single bandwidth-intensive application can result in poor or unacceptable performance for all applications. The QoS concept of quality is one in which the requirements of some applications and users are more critical than others, which means that some traffic needs preferential treatment.
QoS Concepts

The goal of QoS is to provide preferential delivery service for the applications that need it by ensuring sufficient bandwidth, controlling latency and jitter, and reducing data loss. The following table describes these network characteristics.

Thanks Ken....I removed any viruses I found on my end...yet the ads remain...my question...is the forum allowing them to be there?

I do not think so, because no one on staff can see what you are seeing. I think the point might be that they are being displayed on your PC through your connection. Since you and JJ are the only ones to see them thus far (While using IE) indicates it is something on your end versus originating on our end.

yeah I went and looked from my wifes laptop using IE and I see 2 ads at the top that change on refresh. I don't see them because I use firefox with adblock BUT I can verify yes they are there. They were text ads on quitting smoking and then one rotated to some v4l banner. So you aren't crazy they are there.
