Is anyone experiencing a sudden spike in spam emails after ordering e-smoking products? I am suddenly getting upwards of 5-10 vape related spams every day. I have only dealt with a few companies, but it irritates me that my email address would be sold off to a spammer so soon (only vaping 3 weeks.)

Not cool, IMHO.

It looks like all the spams I am getting are originating from the same place (I don't mean the company I bought from, but some spam company.) They're all the same thing: Try our product for 14 days for free, then pay $100 and get enrolled in a monthly program when, I think, they ship carts automatically.

I did the "unsubscribe" thing and deleted the email, so I can't put the name of the company here, now. If I get another one, I will post it.

Glad it's not a rampant problem for everyone.

If your mail program has a spam filter use it to keep those emails from coming in to your inbox. I use gmail and that allows me to mark an item as spam, and they'll send anything else from that sender to your spam folder.

It's NOT a good idea to click the 'unsubscribe' button from spammers - you've just verified that your email account is active, so they can add your name to a list for sale at a higher price because it's a 'good' address.

I've had an increase in spam lately but none of it for ecig products, and I've bought from a lot of suppliers. I suspect some other e-tailer sold my address, because I'm getting the generic emails to buy ......, get student loans that don't have to be repaid, etc.

Yeah, that's it - Smart Smoker. The link is something else, though, which sounds like it might be a spam marketing company that will probably send "free" offers like the one for Smart Smoker to me, now.

I don't usually unsusbscribe from spam because I know that most spam is bot-generated. Unsubscribing usually just lets them know that one of the random bot emails turned out to be a real one, and then that's the end. Spam city.

But I did unsubscribe from Smart Smoker's spam, mainly because it was too targeted a product. They already know my email is legit. It would be too coincidental to suddenly be getting e-cig spam.

If I do find out which vendor made an easy buck off my email addy, I will post their name all over this forum! (Or at least in one thread for all to see!)

No issues here.

CigNot, SmokePlantation, EastMall, eSmokeyTreats, J.Creek, and mypvshop all ordered from with no issues.

FYI: I have been on these nets for a long time and know to keep a separate account (actually I have like 7 active accounts) to use when buying things or to use on say 4ums. Like: spam.this.it.is.not.my.main.account@hotmail.com (not my real one) works wonders. The e-mail longer addy (before the @ symbol) has never been generated randomly like joes83, joes84, or jshwabb83 do. This sometimes causes issues because one petition would not let me sign it and I couldn't figure out why... because the word spam appears in the addy, but I received no error it just took me back to typing and didn't post.

Keep a spreadsheet or some other type of "password-able" document so you can keep track of sites, usernames, and (/etc/)passwd combos.
