Spinner.. did I kill it?

Accidentally unscrewed a T3 tank and left the head on the battery. Poured 2ml's all over the battery. I screwed it back on quick as I could, and then correctly unscrewed the T3. That's when everything went wrong. I held the battery upside down, and put the silver part (just trying to rinse the the thread and terminal) under a stream of water for about 3 seconds.

Had I given the situ at least 1 second of thought, I would've realized there was no possibility the threads or terminal could've gotten flooded anyway. So there was no reason to rinse it.

Anyway, it started blinking in some sort of code. 6 flashes, then 3. 7 flashes, then 3. It wouldn't respond to me hitting the button. I laid it down to dry, and eventually the flashes stopped. It lit up when I hit the button again. So I turned it off and let it dry more. It started flashing the code again until it stopped. It hasn't responded since. Tried charging for 30 mins under close watch.. still nothing.

Did I kill it? lol

Have you tried doing the 5 clicks to turn it off and 5 more to turn it back on?

Odds are yes. Give it a while to dry, then try hooking it to a charger. Sometimes this will "reset" it. At least it has for me. Maybe even try dropping it in a zip lock bag full of rice to help absorb the moisture. For future issues, try using a damp, old tooth brush for cleaning.

I've tried repeated 5 clicks. No dice. I'm going to put it on the charger tonight when I can really keep an eye on it.

Oh, that stinks! I'm assuming this was an auto spinner?
Batteries + water--not a good combination. Isopropyl alcohol, however, is pretty good for cleaning up e-liquid spills and safely cleaning battery terminals. But, as you've just learned, drenching a battery in any liquid won't have a good result.
So sorry for your loss.

Still hoping it's OK for you, but I'm guessing it's probably toast. If you had let it completely dry face-down on the switch for a couple of days without testing it, it might've survived. But once you hit it wet, even for a second, it probably got zapped. I think 3 flashes = a short.

That hole where the switch is isn't sealed and the board is right there, so if you think you might've gotten some liquid in there, best thing to do is give it a few days to dry without ever activating it until you know it's completely dry. Bad thing is, e-liquid doesn't evaporate, and if you try to rinse it off, there's no place for any excess liquid to drain, except for the hole where the switch is. You could try alcohol instead of water (evaporates faster), but I don't know how the circuitry's going to like it. But this will probably never happen to you again anyway, huh?

I don't have T3s anymore - mostly EVODs. One thing I've gotten used to doing is to always unscrew it upside-down. With you it's just the T3 body and base. With me it's the EVOD body, base, adapter and beauty ring. Just too many things to unscrew and sometimes it's hard to tell which is which.

I think poor OP might've gotten some liquid inside the batt where the board is, not just the post, which would've been pretty harmless.

I charged it a couple hours. Unplugged it, and no flashes. Hit the button, no flash.
Started screwing it into a T3, and it started flashing.
Tightened it up, hit the button, and it hit perfectly.
As I unscrewed it, it flashed 3 times. It also put out a puff of vapor, and I could hear it firing.
Unscrewed almost completely, and it flashed 20 times.
Unscrewed completely, all flashing stopped. Not even when I hit the button.

I've repeated this 4 times. I'm gonna assume cindycated is right about it being a short, and I'm not sticking it back in my face for more testing. lol

After 10 minutes of sitting there while I wrote this, it flashed 20 times again. Strange. It would be nice to have a chart for the codes..

cindycated - That's waaay too many pieces for me. I'd feel like I was dismantling a multi-stage rocket every time I filled it. lol

Yay! Good for you. Go ahead and make plans to replace it: after you've described it's symptoms, I can't believe that it'll last very long.
