I've built mine just like in the video I posted. Two pieces of 3mm silica stacked. He does a really neat thing with the ends of the wire, pulling them between the two wicks rather than over the top or bottom. I think that the crucial point is not to have the channel too full or too loose with whatever wick you use. Basically, I have 3mm of silica perfectly just filling the channel, and 3mm floating above the channel.

I still have not had anything even remotely resembling a dry hit, but sadly I do have to report two incidents of gurgling. In both cases the tank was under 1/3 full or less. The first time was after I took the base off, just to see how things were looking. It didn't happen immediately, it took a minute. The second time was after it sat while I was sleeping, again it took a minute of vaping to start. In both cases I turned it over, blew through the bottom, and it didn't come back. Honestly I prefer gurgling to dry hits, but hopefully I can work out this problem as well.

On a new build, I have both end of the wick fluff up pretty high, sorta like a smiley face ). The wick doesn't have to be tuck in so tight on the channel, so the juice can wick toward the center with little effort. After vaping a tank or so, it's wicking really good, so I have to pack the wick tight on the channel or I'll get flooding.

I'm using 32g coil and 2x2mm ekowool

not sure how, even with the ekowool im getting dry hits after like the third or fourth hit. how did you build your coil/wick

Micro coil, 5/6 wrap with 30g over 2.5 silica doubled over. I only ran the silica in the channels to the edge of the platform, not down the sides like I saw Hill do it in vid. What will be interesting is to see if when I build it the same again, if I get the same results. I admit to being coil challenged. I did the same build with my KFL and fired her up this morning. No dry hits yet. It's a drier vape than the SQuape but still nice. The SQuape definitely wins in the ease of build category. Big screws and simple two part take down. Filling is a tie for me. Though you need a screw driver to fill the Kayfun, once its open, you just squirt the juice in until you see it pass the line. For the SQuape, you squirt it down the side but you have to go slow or you risk it flowing into the chimney and out the drip tip. So is the SQuape worth the $40 more than the KFL? I can't quantify that. Their both very good.

lol they said easiest to build not use. mine will be here tommorow i think. gonna see myself i guess.

I have one on it's way too. I was at a local vape meet Friday nite, and one of our local group members had just received his. He hadn't had time to set it up, because he had just got it, but we got to take a look at it anyway, right out of the box. Like most of the European stuff, the quality is outstanding. So, I just had to order one.

My Squape arrived this morning :) First build is using a single strand of 2mm Ekowool. It's vaping decently so far, but I'm not sure how I feel about the draw. The KFL is my benchmark atty--the draw on the Squape is definitely tighter.
I may need to try running a doubled over wick to see if it helps with the wicking...seems to be running dry at the end of a long pull. At least there's no gurgling yet :)

I think its gonna take a few days of fiddling to see if I like the Squape as much as my Kayfuns :p Seems promising though

its in....finally...
xx8UZaE.jpg

and now a short review of my new gear:
King SS Mech..
near perfect build quality- threading buttery smooth from the box, tubes, locking ring, center post.....every thread on this mod is silky smooth and the added weightiness of the mod makes it that much more satisfying to use the locking ring and airflow ring at the top...
switch: the throw is short, precise....10/10imho
copper contacts- reverse threading on the inner descending center post adjusts for any battery configuration, an extra 500 tube is included in the box...
overall quality: 10/10
voltage drop compared to poldiac and 69 using same load- 9.5/10
kayfun delta: purchased specifically for the king ss....both have a high polish finish.....the overall aesthetic is perfect imho...10/10
ability to change dt on the kayfun delta and airflow control makes it a plus for me over the k-lite...especially after using the k-mini first....
SQuape:super easy to set up...ematal coating doesnt conduct electricity, simpler to coiler than kayfun- no shorts possible....
slap anything between the posts, as long as it doesnt block the channels you are good to go....
huge plus: ability to re-coil without emptying tank, just flip the squape over and unscrew the base, fills right into the top housing from a bottle, no need for syringes, needle tips, or valves.....
vape quality- 10/10imho, after the kayfun the ease of use is astounding....flavor- great, drip tip included but can be interchanged...
King Mod SS- Highly Recommended if you like shiny and heavy
Kayfun Delta- Ditto....
SQuape- Ditto...lol....with a brushed finish
