I also recently tried a cotton/micro coil in this. It was only my second ever. The first was in a dripper, and it was terrible for some reason, but the one I put in the SQuape was pretty awesome. It ended up at like 1.3 ohms, which is a bit high for my mechanicals, but still performed about as well as my .8~.9 builds I usually use. But I just have this mental hang up with using wicking material that can burn, and I went back to my usual silica/sub-ohm build.

And on that note, I have found 2mm silica much better than the 3mm they recommend. It wicks just as well, not that wicking was ever a problem with this. I haven't had any more flooding (but the occasional gurgle). It earned me an extra wrap or two around the wick for the same resistance. And most importantly a slightly looser draw. Only a little looser, but any little bit helps, as I find the draw the only thing that prevents this from being my favorite atty.

Yes I do. In fact, the more I vape it, the more I'm thinking I like the Squape every bit as well or better than the KfL.

Agreed! BTW, I followed your example but didn't have any 28g but had one strand of 26g so I went 8 wraps. BAM! Awesome micro coil and wonderful flavor!

I also made myself a present a few minutes ago, pulled the trigger for two Squapes.

You are gonna be a happy!

Another video by RIP Trippers:

So it can be drilled out, but I'm afraid to try it. Would just a regular drill work? Or would a drill press be necessary? I'm not much of a tool person.

I did take the o-ring off the positive pin, and it does seem to make a difference, though it doesn't seem that it would because I see no way for more air to come from the bottom of the pin that's underneath the 510 threads. I think drilling a second hole would be best, rather than making the one whole gigantic like in the video.

i want a SQuape but i'm holding off as i have a ton of rebuildables and, i'm hoping and preying they come out with a version 2 with airflow control! and a 22mm version that is shorter with maybe only a 3.5 ml capacity or so... i don't need my tanks to hold 5 ml ;)

i know, not likely! but i can dream right...

Does it wick better than the Kayfun? I might get one if they make a new version some day. I'm not a fan of how it looks or the finish. It does have an interesting look but I think it could be better.

Yes and no. Overall, I say yes because the juice flow is more consistent all around. The one area the kayfun has it beat is it has 4 channels vs. the squape's 2 so when they get very low on juice, the kayfun channels better. Up until then the squape kicks its ....

So I've been Squaping for a little over a week now (I think--I lose track of time so easily these days) and I'm definitely preferring it to my Kayfuns. It's a breeze to set up and I have to say that I'm liking the vape more--not by a wide margin, but more is more :p I never thought I'd say that I found a better vape. o_O

I've gotten used to the relatively tight draw, and the thing is hitting like a champ--great flavor and vapor production. I also really appreciate the fact that the coil can be rebuilt with juice still in the tank. If performance were equal between the Squape and the KFL, that alone would put the Squape on top--it's already saved me a couple of times.

It is a big honkin' atty, and certainly isn't as attractive as a KFL, but it's a great piece of gear, IMO. If you can get past its diving bell/submarine looks, that is :p

I agree. The Squape is kind of weird looking; and it's big and heavy. But other than that, it's an awesome device.

Liking what I'm seeing. looks like it would be perfect for the Nano Dragon coil build, or what the micro coil thread call the PID build. Have been using a vertical mounted micro coil in the Russian rba, and having a great vape at 15 watts. Was looking for a Christmas present and the SQuape is on the short list. Also thinking of the Steam Turbine and the Bliss.

My concern on the SQuape is the air intake hole, really like that the Kayfun style rba's have the air intake on the side, and the finish on the aluminum. Saw one report that the Ematal was developing some scratches and causing shorts. So will keep an eye on this thread to see if anything negative develops with more use and builds.

thiers a guy on fb that makes pyrex tanks for squape just join the squape group on fb and ask

Yeah, but does he give you the sophisticated installation aid dowle you get with inTaste?

2101_0.jpg

It cracks me up but this is why inTaste rocks. They cut up a dowel to make it easier for you.
