You don't need a drill press at all....the deck is aluminum so if you have any decent drill bit it will go though it like butter. It is also very easy to drill the 510 connector. All in all it will take less than 2 minutes to drill it free hand.

What the Squape designers should have done was to make it like Protank 510 connector/pin. The pin is hollow on the protank so air could go through it from the bottom. If they did that you could use the squape with mods that have airflow control and then you wouldn't need airflow control on the squape itself. I have used the squape without the insulator at the 510 and you have perfect control with mods like the chi you, nemesis, 69 mod etc. But you have the real risk of getting a hard short...so I wouldn't recommend doing that.

What they should of done with the SQuape is have it breath through the side like the Kayfun, Aqua, Flash-e-Vapor, or Nautilus. Going through the valve stem is just a poor design concept for any atomizer.

Agreed, being able to open it up without emptying the tank is a very endearing feature, especially while one is still figuring out the right way to build it. However, mine has never leaked. I've always been able to tell when things are too wet and in need of more more wicking.


I may have to go buy a cheap drill press before the weekend is over. I've got an Igo-L that needs more air too...

Most of my tanks I can rebuild without emptying the tank also. Love that feature in a rba!!

Well, I'm really enjoying my Squape again this evening. It still has the over/under double-barrel shotgun coils in it, but I've re-wicked them number of times. I think one mistake I had been making is using too little cotton. My impression right now is that the Squape likes denser wicks than a Kayfun/Russian. Another difference might be the juice; I'm vaping a mixture of about 1/3 Halo Belgian Cocoa and 2/3 AVE Bobas. For some reason, the Squape's somewhat tighter draw seems well-matched to this combo. The fact that I can re-wick it without draining is also a huge plus because both components of that mixture are notorious for clogging wicks very quickly.

I just purchased a squape over the weekend and I must say im loving it. I feel like I have way more build options than on my kayfuns and I dont have to waste a tank of juice when I feel like changing things up. This is a great atty and was worth every penny imo.

I was going to rewick my Squape yesterday morning at work. I have extra cotton there. While dry burning the coil it popped. I've had that coil in there for so long I really do not remember when I first installed it. At least a month, at least. But I had no Kanthal at work... bummer! I always carry three or more mods with me, so not a game changer. But I was surprised how much I missed using the Squape. Every time I picked anything up to vape, I was looking around for the Squape. As soon as I got home I built another coil and am happy again.

This morning I am alternating between the Squape and my Taifun GT with a Russian and a Russian 91% behind them as backups. Oh, and my Omega dripper is within reach as well. I think I will get through the day without issue

They are excellent bookends for each other. Squape easier to build, more difficult to get the wicks trimmed just right to avoid dry hits or flooding.

When both are set up and vaping well with eyes close the only way to tell the difference is the flavor of the juice in each.

That actually is a very nice benefit of the SQuape (and Taifun GT/GS but the SQuape is definitely the easiest)

The SQuape is an easier build, arguably the easiest RBA I've ever used. Out of the box, the SQuape is a much firmer draw. The Taifun draw can be changed by switching out the draw tubes. I opened up air tube on my SQuape and it was a pain to do but worth the effort though I still have to fiddle with it more to get it to be as consistently good as my Taifun GT or GS.

I've had mine for almost a month, and I'm ready buy at least one and maybe two more. Can't find anyplace that has them in stock, and I don't want a clone.

According to StattQualm, the likely next availability of SQuape's will be in the SUMMER. The only known vendor that has new ones at the moment is dampfzauber.ch, and they are running low...

I ordered two last week from dampfzauber.ch

They were very prompt with service and shipping, but the good old USPS has not updated tracking beyond "Origin Post is Preparing Shipment" since Swiss Post handed the package off to them in Zurich.

I've emailed dampfzauber just this morning for assistance, but haven't gotten a reply yet. I'm going to stop by my local post office this afternoon and see if they can provide more info.

Yes, and I don't understand why. I have had the best luck with the SQuape as far as ease of build and use. I had a little trouble with wicking on my second build, but that was operator head space, and timing. Other than that, they've been great! I like them better than KFL's/R91's for ease of use and portability. I can't tell the difference in flavor, vapor, or throat hit.

So last night I decided to break it down and I went old school. 2.5 mm eckowool with a standard .8 ohm coil evenly spaced wraps between the two posts. I really wasn't expecting much since I love cotton so much, but it is breaking in really nicely. Tons of vapor and while the flavor was off to start with, this afternoon the flavor is returning nicely. No leaking or dry hits at all. Nice!!!!!!

Best results I get with cotton is just what Busardo said in his video. I wrap a micro coil, and trip the cotton to where it just starts over the sides. What I've found with this build, is that the cotton will work its way down a bit further once it gets flowing. Hits like a champ every time!

I'm going to be re-wicking later. If I remember, I'll take some pics and post them.
