+1 for the Sophia- best flavor of anything ever! You may have seen that post from Technonut on the ByLeo thread- he uses a Sophia on a Reo. You could ask him how he makes it work.

You rang? :)

Using Sophia is not much different than using regular 510 attys on the REO to me. There may be one slight gurgle at times on the first hit, but it quickly clears to allow 4-5 good hits (in my case).

First, I make sure that Sophia's pin is turned to fully open the small air-flow holes above the 510 threading... Then, I just blind-squonk until I feel the juice come up to the top of Sophia's cup, and quickly let off of the bottle. Sort of like you would with a drinking straw.. by drawing liquid up to your lips and then stopping. Just enough to saturate the wick.

That being said, My Origen v2 and Orieco Storm A RDA's have been gathering dust since I've been running Sophia. I LOVE her in a tank, but I want to marry her on my REO.. I will not use anything else. ;) :)

EDIT: I also always use a drip-shield with Sophia.. I've yet to have any over-flowing or leaking, even using my LP converted VV Grand. ;)

Thanks for that Technonut. Do you also use an RM2 and if so, what do you think of that? I must have done something right this morning because I just got about 12 good hits with the Sophia from just one squonk. That likely won't happen again. lol I need to check the connection holes next time I rebuild to see if they're all the way open. Even with the short Sofia body with the almost non-existant STR5 drip tip, it's still a little long on top. I'm anxious to get the RM2 to compare, I like the looks of that on top better. :)

YA! Glad you got it to work and I'm going to try my Sophia on it this weekend. I just hate gurgle vapes tho so I hope i get it adjusted right. I really would like to try the Sprial on it next.

NP... :) I haven't tried any of Rob's attys out.. I used my Origen v2 and Oreico Storm A RDA's on the REO. I prefer them for their deep juice wells, but I prefer using Sophia over either of them now. :) I'm used to running the IkenVape 801 Semi attys (still have a small stash set aside ;) ) with my REOs, back before rebuildables existed, so Sophia's length doesn't bother me... I like how it looks with my Empire Mods drip shield. :)

The light-weight, ceramic cup, easy dry-burn access, beck which also acts as a juice spit guard, etc... makes Sophia my atty of choice for the REO. I have owned and used an ERA and Cyclone also before, and still would prefer Sophia over them. ;)

Many like and enjoy Robert's attys VERY much... I'm sure they are great. It's all a matter of what you like the best. ;)

EDIT: I have an old thread regarding the eBaron Spiral on the REO here if interested:

Thanks for the link! Have you ever tried these. Somebody in the know said she can get 10 weeks out of them. (I haven't tried them)

KP Long Barrel Unsealed Atomizer - Kidney Puncher

Thank you for the link.. :) No, I haven't tried them. I'm always on the look-out for inexpensive "old-school" attys to BF though. I still enjoy them once in a while. I'll probably cry when the coil pops on the last IkenVape 801 Semi I have. :( (I think I have 6 left from when they were discontinued, and on sale years ago..)

I read this multiple times before by I bought my REO ;)

Did you happened to do a thread on the Sophia on a REO? I could search but the search engine here hates me and I'm lazy right now.

Kall me Krazy but I wanted to try a Sophia too but they don't ever seem to be in stock any more. (Not when I look anyway.) :(

She appears to be in stock now: :)

No, I haven't been active on ECF much until recently, and never got around to starting one. I'll more than likely add some updated info and pics regarding BF'ing into my Sophia thread in the RBA forum sometime soon. ;) :)

Yeah, made me look again right after I posted that. Uh-oh, I are in trouble now.

Next week. I already blew my discretionary spending "budget" this week. (Gotta stay out of the classifieds.)

Well you lucky duck, you're buying at the perfect time. They just announced about 2 days ago that the Sofia is getting a reduction in price because whoever's making them is lowering their price. :)

Edit: Sofia went from 57 EU to 49 EU...that's a good discount.

I sometimes over squonk and that will get a lot of gurgle sounds and lack of vapor. I either vape through it or if I really squonked too much, I take off the cap on the RM2 and dab a corner of a paper towel around the coil/under it a bit to soak up the excess juice. Goes back to vaping like a champ.

That noise haunts my dreams sometimes, ha ha! I usually try to push through it because I'm lazy like that, but there is definitely an audible sigh when I hear it start to gurgle, lmao.

I agree with you 100% I think the Sofia is tops when using a tank, I have a eBaron Dripper Pro and I bought a Spiral just to use on the REO but as I said earlier it did not work out for me. All the by Leo devices are great for their intended application. Same as the RMx line is tops for it's intended application. For my all day carry anywhere REO's the RM2 and cyclones with a single 1ohm coil and ReadyWick takes care of all my needs. You will be very happy with the RM2 when it gets home and you will be amazed at how easy it is to get set-up and the flavor it produces. I can't wait to hear all about it.

Okay Rattler, you're fixin to get an ear full. haha I got my RM2's yesterday and I couldn't be happier. I built them both this morning and boy was that easy! I watched a few videos and took their advice. I left the cotton legs just long enough to touch the ceramic just a bit, so when I squonk the juice can travel up to the coil on those legs. I just can't believe what a good vape I'm getting now.

I built one coil the way AngiB builds hers and ended up with a 1.02 coil using 28G kanthal and about 8 wraps (could have been 7). I'm getting more vapor than I've ever had, and only having to squonk about every 10 or 12 hits. And best of all...NO gurgling whatsoever. I got a 1.7 Ohm build on the 2nd RM2 using 30G kanthal and 10 wraps for the coil. It's good too but not as powerful as the 1.02 Ohm coil. So I'll prolly stick with the 1.02 coil.

Although you can use the Sofia and Dripper Pro on the Reo, they don't hold a candle to the RM2. The Sofia is the perfect atomizer for tanks, and I'm using the Dripper Pro mainly for testing juices. But the RM2 is just the perfect match for the Reo.

So today is my first day with the RM2's, and I'm just wowed. Now I understand fully why everybody sings the praises of the Reo. For a bottom feeder requiring squonking, it just doesn't get any better and easier than this! :)

I am very happy you like it and thanks for the update.....:toast: :vapor:
I am definitely in the 1ohm range for all my ADV set-ups. It gives me the right amount of flavor and vapor to keep me satisfied.

There are many people who have had a REO/RM2 combo much longer than I, but each day I am still amazed at how good the vape is out of the combo.
Just today I had a guy here fixing a few things on our home and he had a ego twist and an clear16 tank around his neck. As he is working I am vapin' on the ole squonk box and he commented on it. I brought him out a RM2 off the mod and we discussed wicks and coils...then I finally let him have a test drive. He left with REOSmods card in his pocket this afternoon and I bet he is looking at them within a few days. When people get a taste of the flavor out of this amazing mod they always leave smiling. He will be back next Saturday to start on the pergola and he has already hinted about possibly trading some labor hours for a REO.
