If you have never squonked before and are not sure if you'll like it, I would look at the Kanger Dripbox series of mods. There are a few of them now, none of them are very expensive, and any would be a suitable introduction to squonking. The mod or perhaps the full kit comes with an RDA (with a couple of prebuilt coils, too) so you can get your feet wet. If you decide you like it, many RDAs can be found with bottom-feeding center pins. Alternatively, many RDAs without a bottomfeeding option can be turned into a squonking atomizer relatively easily on your own, depending on your aptitude at things like that. Pretty sure there are plenty of RDAs that have a bottomfeeding pin as an option, though, and if all else fails I would look on the REO mods site just to get an idea, or even purchase one from there with or without a mod.

So yeah, there's the original Dripbox which is quite inexpensive these days but has no screen or way to adjust voltage/wattage, the Dripbox 160(Watts) which is a little pricier, and a newer 80W Dripbox 2 which may only be available from Chinese retailers right now. I don't think you can really go wrong for your purposes depending on your budget. Likewise, depending on your style, I would say the Dripbox 160 or Dripbox 2 would be more likely to continue to be a satisfactory squonker (even a backup) down the road some, but personally, I wouldn't order a mod from overseas right now with the FDA crap. I've seen a couple of stories about mods without batteries being held or rejected at customs.

If you are not set up for squonking whatsoever... basically meaning if you don't yet have a bottomfed atomizer, and it sounds like you don't... be sure to go with the full kit if you go with any of the above.

If you are New to Squonking, I think that a Kanger DripBox 60w would be a Very Good Choice Mod Wise. It is Very Inexpensive. And the Mod Perform well for what it is. The BF RDA that comes with the DripBox 60w is not the Greatest. But it does work.

Another choice I would suggest is the Coppervape BF Mod. Just understand that the Coppervape BF Mod is a pure Mechanical Mod.

$32.56 Coppervape BF 18650 Mechanical Mod Kit - authentic / 1*18650 / w/ 10ml dropper bottle / stainless steel + aluminum at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

$26.32 Coppervape BF 18650 Mechanical Mod - authentic / stainless steel / 1*18650 / w/ 10ml dropper bottle at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

I can't say how well the BF RDA works that comes with the Coppervape BF Mod Kit. Because they have redesigned it from the one that came in my Kit. But the Mod is Very Nice. And Well Built.

eLeaf is also going to Release the Pico Squeeze about September 1st. Which is Very Similar to the Kanger DripBox 60w. You might want to hold off on buying for a week or so and see what the Initial Reviews look like. The Size/Price of the Pico Squeeze is Very Appealing to me.

As to stand alone BF RDA's? Hard to say what you might like? But here are some Threads from the Fasttech Forum that has lots of Links to BF RDA's.

BTW - I'm into Single Coil Flavor RDA's. And my Favorite is a NarDa that I convert with a BF Pin from Fat Daddy Vapes. But this is also a Nice BF Ready RDA for either Single of Dual Coils.

I have a couple drippers I love already that came with bf pins like I have a drifter and a 1.5 snapdragon but I want to get something I can try them in bf mode without spending a ton before trying to find something nicer like a sun box product I really like the look of their new e9 18650 DNA 60 about to come out. But I need something to try first. Manger products look alright has anyone tried the I stick pico squeeze very interesting I have a fluid momentum DNA 40 I love that looks about the same form factor just a little more rounded

Can't stress enough a Reo! I bought my first one years ago, and never considered another mod. My collection has grown to several, right now I'm using the very first one I ever bought, works as flawlessly as the day I bought it. It's in investment worth buying.

The reos look sturdy af but the way I build I prefer regulated. I can build for mechs I just prefer having that same vape beginning to end. But I do agree with you there is a reason reos have been so sought after this long

If you want to go the Regulated route, I would also consider the Steam Crave Squonker and the Kanger DripBox 2.

Steam Crave Squonk MOD,Steam Crave Squonker

Kangertech Dripbox 2 Starter Kit White

Kanger did a Limited release of the DripBox 2 to get under the Aug 8th deadline. But Black, Red and perhaps SS should be available soon.

If you prefer regulated, I understand. But, if you can get comfortable with a mech, look no further than a REO. They can be purchased used and you can save a good bit of money. Invest in a decent atomizer and you have invested well. REOs are virtually indestructible and will save you a lot of money over the long haul.

I have been through numerous squonkers....the "inexpensive" ones often cost more in the long run. Electronics break with time and I speak from experience.

Am I a REO lover? Absolutely...but, only because I have been down the other traveled roads.

Good luck to you!
