What little I know about stainless vaping wire:
Iirc 304 has more nickel in it but I could be wrong. It may have better wrapping properties than 316l I’m not sure. I don’t know a ton about it. 316l was originally designed for salt water marine applications and is unusually corrosion resistant even for stainless, which means it may last longer. No hard data though. 304 has become somewhat rare and has been supplanted almost entirely by 316l
