It looks like a stainless steel Vtube is in my near future. I am coming from using an EGo and have amassed a nice little collections of tanks, clearomizers, etc. On this page of Apollo it mentions that the SS and Chrome come with an adaptor already. ego adapter for lavatube

Is that all I need to use my Visions and standard 510 threaded tanks?

Also people's thoughts on that being the next step up from EGos?

If you buy the Chrome or Stainless steel version the ego adapter is built in.

NOT for all eGo compatible cartos/clearos!!! I have to use an 510 extender on my 'early' SS Apollo mini-VTube for my Stardusts and eMDCCs; same for the 18650 also. Go to the Apollo forum and wade through the BS concerning this design issue.

Iffy, thanks for helping me understand that I'm not completely nuts. My Vision clearos do not work on my SS VTube without an adapter. I think the problem is that the skirt on the outside of the clearos is so long that the skirt bottoms out in the VTube's dripwell before the threads can engage and the center pin can make contact with the clearo.

It's no big deal to me because I'm quickly moving away from clearos anyway, but it is somewhat frustrating because the SS and chrome versions are advertised as not needing any kind of adapter.

Pappy,

My understanding is that the issue is the VT 510 connection. If you look down on it, you'll see that the 'base' diameter is a tad larger than the threaded top section which prevents the hookup.

Regardless of who's correct, luv my SS mini-VT, even with the 510 extender!

AND... you're no nuttier than I am...

Aha! I see it now. The base (center tube section) of the VTube flanges out. Thanks for clearing that up.

Ah! Thanks for clearing that up. I was just going by what they had on the site. I even asked someone in customer service about that when I originally ordered mine (I didn't get the Chrome or Stainless though).

They should make that more known on the site.
