Ss316 flatwire 20g 3.5 id

This is my flatwire coil I made for my fatality m25, came in at 0.15,I love it.

Yes, its stated as 20g ss316 and it is from the company called flatwire, it is very difficult to coil, it's like trying to bend a steel bar, pic coming

They do lots of different wire, I have some Clapton wire from them, I love the wire they make, spot on

Crazy wire stopped recently, but wa interested @Marper because it's rounded edge profile. And a lot of places sell square profile.

I know, yes its rounded, fantastic once you have made it and fitted it

I don't like square profile flatwire, I think rounded gives you that little bit extra leeway

It's also better when it comes to wicking, as it makes it easier to pull it through the coil. Instead of snaggong and shredding it.

Curious... why do they say 20g when it's not round. Most flat wire has two dimensions in mm (maybe it has equivalent resistance as 20 ga round wire) Looks nice.

That's exactly it @vaper1960, 20 gauge flattened.

Not too sure on the resistance though as the flattening process would alter it to some extent.

It is 20g round but flattened and rolled for the edges, the resistance I should think is pretty similar but I've not got any 20g round to check

Although thinking about it 20g ss316 round would need a big lot of wraps to get 0.15 ohms, maybe the process stretches the wire a bit

I'm thinking that the resistance may be ever so slightly lower.

Looking at this from steam engine using round 20g its not about what I expected to be honest

The most important thing is that it works @Marper, and that it does.

Been trying to find some 0.6mm x 0.2mm rounded edge profile flat wire, but it's hard to find either specific sizes or gauges.

And it is absolutely correct, my coil is 7/6

But was thinking that the stretching and or rolling will alter the resistance slightly, as the processes used will alter the crystaline structure of the metal somewhat.
