I asked Carolina Vapors about a couple of
batteries. Here is my question and their response:
Hi,
I would like to know what the C rating is on a couple of your
batteries. The RCR123a 3v LiFePO4 part #58 and the Tenergy RCR123a 3.0v 900 mah.
Their response:
Hello and thank you for your inquiry!
There isn't an official "C" rating of LiPOs because of their inherently stable chemistry, that I have been able to find. Tenergy themselves do not list a C rating of them. That said, there is some evidence they would have a C rating between .5 and 1, which would make them a 1-3 amp battery. This only means they will provide optimum output and performance at 1-3 amp draw. They still work just fine with mods as long as they are being stacked properly and safely. LifePO
batteries are a little more forgiving when it comes to safety but they still can fail if treated improperly. As long as a person practices proper battery stacking procedure, (ie. label each pair as a pair and only use them as a pair, charge and discharge together, allow an hour rest before and after charging, and alternate the "top" battery position with each cycle), they are the most safe method of stacking batteries.
The C rating of the Tenergy RCR123A Li-Ion batteries is 2C.
Hope this helps.
Thanks!
Lisa
