Stainless Steel Rope Build, need advice for maintenance

Hey guys,

I've been vaping on this rope for about 2 weeks, and notice I get burnt taste after 2 refills. The build is 28g/7 wraps/dual coils on a Kraken atomizer. The resistance comes out to be .7 ohms. I rebuilt the coils a 2nd time and still getting the burnt taste after 2 refills. Is there a way to maintain the build without rebuilding it?

So far, I have tried dry burning the coils to get rid of the build-up. But that didn't really help. Anyone out there have advice for cleaning the built coils?

I am sure you have SS Mesh Around the SS Rope where your wrapping the coil Proper oxidation of Mesh is important as is torching SS Rope Red Hot before using as a wick. Other then that I am not sure. I have a single SS Cable SS mesh wick in my ihybrid Pure. I have a Single SS #500 Mesh wick in my Karken Clone and a SS Mesh U wick I my RSST. All are about..8 ohm I can Vape them until coil gunks up and then dry burn. What kind of juice do you use as I do not use any juice that is very sweet or sugary. I think I get about 3 tanks Vaping between dry burning coil while still wrapped on wick. You have to burn thru all juice in in wick before coil will glow red by pulsing. You can brush any black carbon left on coil or run hot water over coil while still hot. Just do not get any water on your mod.

You reusing cables between rebuilds? how is your wick setup?

Like what Roosterado said, that is how I build my kraken. As for my juice, I am not sure if it is sugary since I just picked it up from my local shop. The brand and flavor is, Ruthless - Slurricane. Just so happens, I ran out of this juice when trying your method of maintaining the coils. I couldn't get to my 2nd tank but it has not showing any signs of gunkyness or burnt taste. I also changed the SS mesh as i suspect it to be not enough. I will keep you up to date once I go pick up some more.
