For me, dripping has made the difference in being truly happy with vaping. I use the 510 and dripping with my USB passthrough is perfect. I can drip on my regular manual batteries but have to be more careful that it doesn't make the battery start flashing. I use less liquid dripping w/batt, but sometimes will take the atomizer off, drip and place it back on the battery.

I'm dripping industrial strength (48 mg) and find I'm vaping a whole lot less, very happy with vaping alone (don't miss smoking anymore), and the flavor is great. My attys are holding up great! Once in awhile I'll try a cart, but mostly it just filters out all the goody from my vapor and it goes back into storage.

I'm slightly confused here, and I have been for months. When I top off my carts, I put a couple drops on the atty bridge, and I considered this "dripping." When you guys drip, do you not use a cart? Meaning you put your lips on the outside of the atty?

I've tried this a couple times but it just gets to the point where it's way too hot to put my mouth directly on....

Am I missing a key aspect to dripping?

I've taken drags with with no cart before (510) but I try to avoid it, only because I have have had *new* 510 atties make a loud popping sound the first few times they were fired up. Gets me a little nervous.

I don't know what model e-cig you use, but all the 510 atties I have bought have come with a blank cart. There isn't even a place to put stuffing. It is literally an open-ended tube with a tiny hole in the other end. I believe this is intended for dripping. I have also used 901 carts, and those have a small hard cap with a tiny hole in it.... again, I believe this is meant for dripping on a 901.

As for the person a few posts back having problems: Quite often I seem to flood my atty when dripping. Sometimes even only after one drop. My solution: When dripping, if you hear a gurgling sound, tilt the LED end up and take slow drags. The gurgling should get better and you will get a much better hit. Once the gurgling quiets down or stops, resume holding the e-cig level or however you normally hold it.

In my experience, gurgling noise = flooded, and a flooded atomizer doesn't give you much (if any) vapor.

I tried dripping once or twice, but got annoyed with having to re drip every 10 or so puff - I'm a junkie, my e-cig holder is my hand. Is that how it's supposed to be or can just dripping last longer in between drippings?

No, that's about how many good hits you can expect when dripping. I have tried dropping in a few extra drops, like around the edge of the atty, but that usually just increases the odds of flooding, then I need to tip the end up as explained above.

What I like about it though is this: You may only get about 10 hits, but they are some very good hits. Much better hits than with a cart IMO. Also, you can get those awesome hits one after another. With a cart, I can't seem to get that many GREAT hits in a row.

I guess to each their own, but to me the difference in hit quality is night and day, and well worth the extra effort of having to put in another drop or two every few minutes.

I first tried dripping on my Super Mini, but it was way too easy to flood it. Since then I switched over almost exclusively to vaping a pipe. I've noticed with the DSE601, after the first 12 or so drags on a fresh cart the vapor drops off. Discovered that the atty was saturated and wasn't getting up to operating temp. So I just learned to pull the cart and vape until the density came back to dry it out a little. Lately, unless I'm testing a mod, I just drip. It takes 7 or more drops before I even get a gurgle out of this thing. Typically I just drip 2 or 3 at a time then reload as needed. I've fiddled around with all sorts of cart mods and nothing compares to dripping. I still haven't abandoned the carts altogether, but it's nice to know Old Faithful is only a couple of drops away.

Ok, you guys win!:D I tried the contact lens case dipping method someone else mentioned and with my 401, it's beautiful. Much better taste and it goes on for a much longer than expected time. Thank you!
I find dipping to be better than dripping too.

I use my 510 manual batteries with a 306 atomizer for dipping.
Dipping seems to soak up more juice than I can drip on it without flooding.
I don't know why, and it makes no logical sense to me, but that is what it seems.

But mostly I still use cartridges.
If I hadn't found out about the Windmill/Thermometer method I would never use cartridges.
But then again, I still haven't tried pyramid tea bags yet, but someday I most defintely will.

I guess I use cartridges when I'm out and about and having a drag or four every now and then.
And I dip when I am at work and wanting to take "one cigarette at a time" breaks.

Oh, and I can never get more than two drops on a 510 atomizer without flooding it.
And I can never get more than about four or five drags with it before tasting dry atomizer.

I think I just take reallly big, long, deep lung drags.
But then I grew up smoking various herbal substances.

I have also found the the Windmill/Thermometer Method helps with dripping/dipping too.
When you start tasting that dry atomizer taste.

I'm still trying to figure out a logical reason to explain that one too.

This group amazes me! I was "cart only" as I was afraid of damaging, flooding, or otherwise infuriating my atty. For some reason I felt that dripping would harm my atty.

But I had a few new attys- basically broken in with some light cart vaping - so I dripped. OMG! My cappuccino now actually tastes like, (drum roll) CAPPUCCINO!

I think I have entered a new plane of existence, ecstasy and general vaping luxury.
I about ran out the front door yelling "I'm dripping and I'm happy!" but thought the neighborhood association would frown on this.

Now all I need to do is figure out how to fit this beautiful ritual in my daily vaping - as I find the cart topping very convenient.

Thank you all so much! First the 510 and now dripping. You are all da bomb! I was getting very disappointed with the flavor thing!

Three drops are good for how many drags on on the 510?
Only you can answer that question, because it depends on how you use it.
And I don't know that I've heard of many people getting 3 drops on a 510 atomizer.

I can only get about 2 drops.

Some people are saying they get about 10 drags.
I can't imagine that ever happening for me, as I only get about 5 drags at best.

See my posts above.

I am new to this forum so please pardon my ignorance. I use an evo exclusively, that is the only e-cig I have ever used. I started on it and am still using it. I have been off the regular cigarettes for about 2 1/2 months. I drip exclusively. A friend of mine turned me on to this forum and is also sending me one of her vaporizors (a 510 ????? whatever that is) to try out. She has a screwdriver and says that it is amazing!

I drip about 3-4 drops on my atomizer bridge with the evo and I love it. Cartridges don't seem to give you a good enough hit & I often end up with juice in my mouth. Blegh!

How many posts does one have to get before they can post a new thread??
