hello fraser.you state you dont go on other forums only tw.your a director like your brother only difference is you dont feel the need to reply to every bad comment made about tw.,because you dont frequent the forums.i,m sure a sticks and stones policy would work much better.let your products and customer service do the talking.cant be good for business if the owner of a company is telling a customer he doesnt want his business and doesnt need it.

I don't want them to fail. I think they are a great example of how a company can come from nothing and become one of the largest e-cig vendors in the world. This should be commended as they are doing a lot for our chosen hobby.. Not to mention giving people jobs in our rather austere times.

Having said that, over the last few days they really have embarrassed themselves. It's great to have an outspoken CEO. Look at Steve Jobs. He spoke his mind. He didn't suffer fools. He had a singular vision. Like or hate Apple, it's him and pretty much him alone that took Apple to where they are now.

I bet he didn't go inciting hatred on little forums who have no resources to defend themselves though.

Sometimes your CEO just needs to be quiet, step away from the keyboard and take a few deep breaths. Especially if he's a little eccentric!! (It's also great to have an eccentric CEO, don't get me wrong) - Not necessarily the best spokesperson for your company though...

I don't want any of us to fail or fall! I don't see why we can't all just stand together as vapers. We have enough adversity from non vapers without us turning on each other. I'm just a dodgy hippy type who just wants to share the love! I completely agree with what you said about the company, I've always had the greatest respect for any company that tries something new and wants to change the world for the better, especially when they have worked hard from the ground up. I'm a small business woman myself so I know how hard it is out there.

No matter what their stance or original motives, be they legitimate or not, all that is tarnished by a front man acting self righteous and childish.

Public perception and your brand should always be paramount as a business owner, not your own bravado.

I'm sure they will survive as not everyone lurks forums or cares. I'd still suggest a muzzle in the future.

My little brother acts much the same way when someone else insults him when playing Xbox 360, although I think he's a bit wittier.

Just my .2 :)

Guerilla marketing with the added bonus of media control.

It is unfortunate the owner of the forum did not call the bluff. One would think that a company selling e cigarettes and nicotine juice pushing upward of 70 employees would have counsel readily available if not on retainer. Obviously, they do and they know that unless the forum owner contractually benefitted from the union than nothing could be done.

Remember New Coke? Me either, I was 5 when it all went down. But i was taught it was one of the greatest corporate marketing blunders in history. For 77 days in 1985 Coke changed the famous formula of Coke to stabilize falling market shares. The day it was announced market shares rose and by the end, after alienating undreds of thousands of loyal Coke fans, the original formula was brought back. Coke had gained a huge number in sales not only stabilizing shares but acquiring more points across the board. This is my favorite example of guerilla marketing.

Will this logic work for smaller companies? Nope.

Do small/medium size companies on the brink of becoming larger companies always utilize the best logic when making decisions? Nope.

Then again, what do i know. I flip burgers at Taco Bell. :)

I know for a fact that they've lost 2 potential customers as me and a buddy at work were chatting about this today. We both feel that our money is best spent with vendors that actually appreciate our business. There are just to many vendors offering basically the same products to worry about dealing with a company that has this much drama...

All I see here, is a lot of self-aggrandizing to be honest, which is the least I'd expect from a company that's come under fire from consumers as a result of some pretty bizarro PR handling and off the scale bad customer relations - and let there be no doubt in either of the Croppers minds, many of us who are at the very least extremely bemused by some of the stuff that's been happening definitely were (get used to the past tense being increasingly relevant guys) his customers, and may have continued to be.

What I don't see anywhere here, is any real acknowledgment or recognition of the value of good customer relations outside TW's direct sphere of influence, where the pressure to conform to that company's rules and regs is (until recently anyway) least felt and has shortest reach. It's as though anyone not posting on TW's own site is considered wildlife and therefore a free target for JC to pick off as he likes. He drops his bombs left, right and centre, and we're supposed to take anything in this statement and judge it within a vacuum? Pretend JC didn't issue personal insults and make threats, or draw attention to himself with cryptic end of world statements, or endorse views that media personalities are changeling actors connected to zionist dynasties who control our lives, we "sequential thinkers" - presumably he doesn't mind us sequential thinkers using our Visas at his checkout.....or does the use of a Visa at his site get us back in the circle of trust again? Who knows, he evidently doesn't.

But does Mr Cropper at least recognise cause and effect going on here? Does he not see a connection between failing confidence in his brand and his own activities here and on UKV prior to it getting taken down? If not, then just... wow! That blows a smoking great hole in that whole "self-awareness as a company" thing doesn't it?

So yeah, a lot of words eloquently arranged, but entirely empty and meaningless to me as an erstwhile customer of his company who is now determinedly not one.

WWWBD? Not that...lol

It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you'll do things differently.
