I'd heard about people vaping in theatres and other public places, and I wondered how the heck they do that without arousing suspicions while exhaling massive clouds. A new buddy shared this video with me, and it's so simple I laughed out loud. Tried it out and it works perfectly. So for anyone else who wondered how to get your vapes on and remain below the radar, have a peek....

I've watched that before and it does work, but I usually forget the second inhale of air.

Personally I don't usually think that much about it and just take shorter inhales if I remember and hold it in for a long time, exhale quickly and to the side or into a sleeve if I can tell it's going to be a lot of vapor - I also try to avoid blowing vapour rings. :) If I get any weird/disgruntled looks, I shove the e-cigarette - which is a 900 mah black ego and no where near cigarette sized into a pocket and I think people realize it's not a burning cigarette and stop caring. I expect people want to watch you continue to do it and expect a nasty smell before complaining. I've done this in malls, on the greyhound bus and in theatres without a problem. I'm pretty discrete though .. and try to get away from people. I've read about people wondering through the grocery store vaping and not bothering to hide it, I really don't find the need to do that and I'm not really trying to prove that I can vape anywhere without bothering people.

I ordered an ego mini, so I can try to be a bit stealthier though.

I think it helps that Canadians are far less likely to cause a fuse too, being generally - ok, sometimes more polite. :)

I don't stealth. Vaping isn't illegal, it's not harmful to anyone, and I don't feel that applying the same etiquette or social conventions as tobacco does anyone any favors. I vape where and when I want, and unless I'm told not to by the owner of a private establishment I argue my case if confronted.

I've had to stop once. And that was in a small retail store that sold cheese.

Stealth vaping, kinda cool. Couldn't do that with a traditional cigarette. Myself, I like blowing vaper rings.
Even as a smoker, I never learned to do that. Tried and tried, but the only rings I puffed were complete accidents when I wasn't even thinking about it. Guess I need a tutorial video on that too ;)

I wholeheartedly agree. I don't view it as a challenge to see where I can get away with it. I figure that as discrete and unobtrusive as I can be, the better. The less attention I draw, the less likely someone will be to go out of their way to try to impose restrictions on me. I'm always ready to cheerfully explain and educate, but mostly, I just want the freedom to do my thing without bothering anyone or being bothered myself.

Definitely high on my wish list. A veteran vaper showed me one the other day and I was just charmed with how compact and well, CUTE it was.... sorry, went all girlie there for a second.

Sorry, not to be critical, but that's really old news.
True enough IamAurora, and not to be critical in turn but I respectfully disagree with the tone of your reply. Granted, the video *is* dated well over two years ago, and I'm sure the technique was known before that, but none of that is the point.

I always figure that as the ECF attracts droves of brand new vapers every day, who don't know an atty from a carto! Thus, old information is completely new to a great deal of readers. If a tip is useful to a handful of new vapers and solves an existing or potential problem for them, it's worth talking about. I actually checked before posting it if there was already an old thread on the topic that I could resurrect, but there wasn't so I started fresh.

We'll all find threads we aren't interested in, but that someone else is. I simply read what pertains to me, then mark the entire forum "read" so that messages I'm not concerned with don't remain in eye-catching bold to me.

I dont feel the need to stealth vape but I do have the courtesy of making sure I dont get vapor up in anyones face especially in restaurant and theatre settings. in a restaurant which has a decent amount of people, I get permission first and ill stop if anyone is bothered by it. even if you stealth vape, someone is bound to see you and it will look suspicious. dont want anyone to think im doing something illegal

I agree with The Doctor to a certain extent. There are situations/places where it would be best to be discreet. For instance, where I am employed. My boss is an ...... and even though it doesn't bother anyone, including him, he would say I can't vape just to be a ..... He is the reason I discovered PV's because he said if I take a smoke break, ever again, I will be fired (even though 2 co-workers smoke and he doesn't care).

So, I bought my kgo and kgo vv with an ego mega 1.7ohm carto (holds 2.5-ish ml), 2ml vivi nova v3 and the kgo kit came with 2 clearomizers to go with the 2 1100mah batteries and I vape peacefully and discreetly to my hearts content. I'm not taking any chances with him and his opinions on vaping. I'll keep it a secret.

I was stealth vaping in Walmart the other day. Though I wasn't being very stealthy lol. I was blowing clouds of toffee smelling vapour. Why should they complain? I'm sure its the best smelling Walmart in North America thanks to me :)

You know I don't feel the need to SV but agree there are certain places where it would be boorish and uncouth. An example would be church but only go to those for weddings and funerals. I would not vape on an airplane it would make too many people ... ah er "nervous" and these days you could be arrested for loud farts in airplanes. But in a Walmart definitely Vape Hard

I'm with you guys, but I still don't have the nerve! I still hurry through my shopping, rush to the truck, unload the goodies, buckle in the boy, turn on the radio and have my vape beside the truck before I roll. I think that cloud still makes me feel like all the rules of smoking still apply. And I get a lot of weird looks from passersby.... but then I live in BC so I always wonder if they think I'm up to something much more controversial lol.....

Yeah, an airplane would be a different story. Getting kicked off a plane could have serious repercussions for future travel. On the other hand, getting kicked out of Walmart means...drive 6 blocks to the next one. lol
