lol this has come up sooooo many times on this forum. the general outcome of all those threads:
Using the technical definition, this is the wrong word to use and would confuse anyone in a field that uses the term and is unfamiliar with e juice.
The community has created its own definition of the word.
The majority of the community has no interest in changing their terminology.
Flaming sometimes ensues.

and the term steep in this arena was used correctly when people steeped tobacco to make DIYNETs... it just got carried over (incorrectly) to all juices
after the tobacco was filtered out, then the juice got aged....

Not at all disagreeing with you or saying your wrong. Just letting you know how all of the many threads stating the same thing, one in great detail (the op was a page long!) have gone. People are stubborn :)
