I steep with the cap on. I've found that if you leave e-juice with the cap off for an overly extended period of time the flavor gets a bit dull/muted.

My steeping process is pretty simple. Give the bottles of juice a shake every day or every other day, let em sit in a dark cabinet for a while, occasionally taste or give it a sniff. If I notice any chemical/alcohol aroma I'll air it out. Usually when I first get juices I'll air 'em out for an hour or two.

You are going to get 100 different answers for this one but I like to steep cap off for 1 day only. From then on I just shake the bottle up then squeez the air out about 5 times throughout a day for a couple days. Steeping is basically getting the alcohol from the flavorings to evaporate leaving clean flavors. Shaking up the bottle and pushing the evaporated alcohol out while replacing it with clean air is a pretty good way to speed it up.

I've never and will never take the top off to steep, just seems odd to me. Then again I'd nver leave a drink uncovered for a day or more to get it to taste better. If you're trying to speed things up placing the bottle in warm water is a much better method imo.

It's less about speeding things up (breathing) and more about just getting out some of the previous aroma. I've had a fair bit of juice that initially tastes acrid of chemical-ish but after an hour or so of airing out with the top off it mellows out a bunch.

I'm not a fan of warming your juice, as heat can degrade the flavorings and VG/PG (hence why people recommend not leaving your juice in a hot car, in direct sunlight, in the oven, etc.)

I'm going to be a bit pedantic for a moment.

First, I do NOT steep. I age. At no point am I putting solids in my ejuice to extract the flavor from them. You steep to make tea, you age meats, wines, and ejuice.

Second, I always let my juices breath. I do not leave the caps off though, instead I remove the tops, squeeze the air out of the bottle and let fresh air in. I'll do this several times a day for the first few days that my ejuices are aging.

And finally, I NEVER apply heat of any kind to ejuice. Heat degrades nicotine causing it to turn rancid and can spoil some of the flavorings. Prolonged exposure to heat can beak down the propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin as well. Every single ingredient in ejuice tells you to store it in a cool, dark place. They wouldn't say that if heating it was a good thing.

Steeping doesn't necessarily imply you're putting something solid in it. The flavoring in the VG/PG could be the equivalent of a tea bag in a cup of hot water. It's still "steeping" by definition.

Either way, it's sort of semantics, and you're not going to get everyone to suddenly change their terminology. Just sayin'.

I put mine in the refrigerator for a day or two and then just let them set. I never take the caps off to let them set.

Refrigerating e-liquid is actually a method of preserving it long-term.

In regards to steeping I'd imagine it would actually have the opposite of its intended effect (ie: making the flavoring take longer to mingle with the VG/PG/nic.)

I mostly vape natural tobacco extract e-liquids, for the pure tobacco experience. I've tried several brands of NETs recommended on this fourm, Goodejuice, Heather's Heavenly Vapors, but have settled on Naturally-Extracted-Tobacco, their flavors are the real deal, the closest thing I have to smoking a cigarette (or pipe for some flavors) that I've found, in fact I like them BETTER than smoking, smoother, no coughing! They are good day one, but the flavor improves over a few weeks, and to steep all i do is open the caps, squeeze a little air with the dropper into the liquid, replace, and shake a few times... maybe a couple of times a week the first week, and that's it the taste gets better on it's on with time. I'm not going to baby sit my e-liquids haha. :)

The ingredients do not tell you anything. The ingredients are simply a list of the material that the eliquid is comprised of like PG, VG, nic and flavor and so forth. Perhaps a sweetner would be listed as an ingredient. I think you are referring to a storing suggestion. A storing suggestion is quite different than thinking about speeding up the steeping or aging process. After the eliquid is properly steeped then one would STORE the eliquid accordingly. Steeping eliquid is a completely different subject lawlz[emoji41] [emoji12]
