Just ordered Amazon.com: Customer Reviews: BlackHillsGoldSource Model 890 Professional Ultrasonic Cleaner - Ideal As Ultrasonic Jewelry Cleaner, Eyeglass Cleaner, Dentures Cleaner and Other Household Cleaning - 600ml Capacity, 50 Watt, 42khz, with Digital Timer a today and if you look at the reviews Dogger gave it five stars for steeping his DIY e-liquids. I have only been vaping for two weeks and still LEARNING, have not tried the DIY yet and might in the future i did however order a sample pack of tobacco juices for Halo when i got my G6 and couldn't vape any of them from the mail then i started searching found the one about hot sink bath and shake, worked good enuff i could vape the next day but still; taste a little chemically....anyways kept searching found this thread hope this takes my steeping from weeks to days even with vendor juices.......

Halo is famous for sending out non steeped juice. In my earlier buying days I can't tell you how many bottles of unser or not steeped juice I got from them.

Every 10mins give it a good shake and restart the cleaner it seems to work better. If you notice people here who have USCs with the small cycles swear by USCs its because they shake every 6mins or so. The long cycles seem to just kill the viscosity of the liquid but it takes more cycles to accomplish the same feats.

Hog wash. The viscosity is thinned by the heat generated by the wave action. After the mix cools the viscosity returns to normal. I do 30 minute cycles back to back and it never affected the quality of the juice.... That’s just plain silly

Also by constantly shaking you are introducing more air into the mix which is know to accelerate the oxidation of the nicotine. That is something you don't want to do.

So i just turn it on for 30 minutes and let it go.....right now i mainly have tobacco juices and they say they almost ALWAYS need to be steeped for almost a month, that's why i got this i don't wanna wait that long......Should i just do 2 - 30 minutes cycles then wait how long b4 i do more i read somewhere tobacco usually takes 4-5 hours using the USC........

I work in a test lab with temperature control vibration machine. I put some fresh made TFA RY4 double in there at 70C. Before I put it in it had almost no smell, with little color. After just a couple of hours it turned a darker color and had a good full RY4 smell to it. I didn't vape it before and after, and kinda wish I did, but I thought I would share my two cents for what I found in my industrial sized ultrasonic.

70C is like 158F and most everyone recomends a max. of 122-125F for ejuice steeping in US or hot water bath. I have used 140F myself after reading a test conducted by a chemist who is also vapes and DIYs his own juices. I am of the opinion that the heatinhg has more of an effect on speed steeping than the ultrasonic waves.

My USC whgich is perhaps a bit overkill for ejuice but has orher uses also.

Rane , starting with warm water most of the unit will keep th water plenty warm. It seems like most leave the heating part turned off half of the cycles or more. Every unit is different. The one I use will increase water temp. from 60F to 125F in 90 min. with the heating element left turned off. If I want to continue to to use the US function I have to change out about half of the water every 30 to 45 minutes to prevent it from going over 125F.

 I have a question. If you purchase an UC without a heater option. Can you just put warm water in the unit and cycle it that way?? Or would it be best to go ahead and spend the extra money and get the cleaner with the heater option?

Short answer is YES. I have a heater in mine and I NEVER use it if I start with hot water. If anything I need to cool it down after a while because the temp will get too high since the US action generates plenty of heat on its own.

The heating option isn't that necessary because the water in the UC gets warm during the UC process. In fact someone has reported that the water in their UC got too warm. Too hot's bad for the nic.

OK so i got my USC in tonight and just like a kid in a candy store i couldn't wait any longer worked 12 hr shifts so i didn't goto pharmacy to get glass bottles and boy was that a mistake........ran 3-30 minute cycles waiting about 5 minutes in between each cycle but not thinking........left the bottles in the USC between cycles instead of taking out the basket to let them cool......all bottles are warped and I will be getting off on time tomorrow to get some glass ones.........any tips for keeping the water temp around 125.....add cool water at times?? to bring down..........trying to "fast steep" halo's tobacco sample, Tribeca is the only one i can vape and its almost gone, but i am guessing i need to be looking for some good RY4's i think thats where my tastes are at. I actually added some grape to the Tribeca and it smoothed it over very well.......oh well just ranting now, hopefully tomorrow will be better.

I use glass. $30 cheapo USC from Harbor Freight. Dog food kibble rubber banded to keep on button depressed.
No heater. I start with cold water, it heats in about 30-40 minutes.
Turkey baster to replace warm with cool if I want to keep it going.
I usually just use 30-40 minute cycles with an hour or two between cycles.
4-5 hours steeped over the weekend probably knocks a couple of weeks off of waiting.

I use glass bottle in my UC however I have used standard(?) ejuice plastic bottles in hot water bath at up to 140F without any issues with them. IMO if the bottle were hot enough to warp juivce got to hot.

Note: How fast and how hot water gets in a UC depends on atrting water temp., room temp. amout of water and ejuice in it, how powerful the unit is. My has two 60 watt power transducers in it plus a 100 watt heater on a seperat conrtol which I only use for hot water bath stage of steeping.
