That must have been awfully frustrating for both of you! So glad he's home.

Seriously though Classy, glad to read that you finally got him out of that place and home where he can get some real rest and healing done.
The good thing about the doctor arriving that late is that it gave them a few extra hours to make sure he wasn't going to relapse. (And tired him out so he didn't try to do stuff when he got home.)
