I have read a TON on batteries, and I still just don't get it. Why can't this be simple like AA, AAA, C, D LOL

I have an SX Mini coming, will be using RTA's and RDA's and not sure what batteries I need to use in it to be safe. Currently in my VTR, I am using these panasonic 18650B batteries. Says NCR18650B on the stick 3400 mah

Are these safe to use (lets say at .3ohm and above) or do I need to buy something different? I had a vaping friend recommend Samgund 25R

I'm not overly familiar with those Panasonics, but looking at the details I can find they look like a decent option for a lower power regulated mod like the VTR (that mod has a 5 amp output limit, correct? Or am I thinking of the wrong one?). I'm not sure I'd use those for any crazy sub-ohm vaping, though, I just don't know all the specs on them.

As for the Samsung 25R, it's a quality battery if you're looking to sub-ohm since it can handle quite a bit of current

Not sure about the panisonics, the samsungs have a good reputation, everyone seems to be getting those or LG HE2s.
Quick question, why are you building at .3 on a regulated mod? No judgement, just curious.

I haven't built anything yet.. that was a hypothetical in case I end up with a mech mod down the road. Anything I build right now will be mostly 1 ohm and above

Planning a head, nice.
With 200+ watt mods on the market the need for mechs to do low builds is fading fast. They are generally cheaper as they have no circuit boards, and they are smaller for the same reason. I have a mech simply for a stealth mod. I'm usually above 1 ohm.
Good luck to you, and like I said, be safe :)

AFAIK the SX Mini goes up to 60 watts with one battery, so it needs a 30 amp continuous discharge rated battery.

Those Panasonics, as Lessifer said, have a safe limit of 6.8A. They are quite safe, but you'll ruin them quite quickly in this mod. The Samsung 25R is rated 20A. Again, running them at 30A is going to wear them out quickly.

Illumination Supply has some Sony VTC4 in stock which are rated 30A continuous. At $8.50 and Illumn's good rep for selling authentic batteries they are the best deal I know of for a 30A battery.

Also, you're setting watts, so as long as the mod can make the watts, it doesn't matter what the resistance is, it will draw the same amps from the battery.
