Wow that's extremely cheap. Do you have experience with that device? I have a provari but I'm in the market for a backup I could toss around and not worry about.

I had mine for two weeks and sold it. Was horrible to me. You're probably better off with a couple twists or spinners.

You have a Provari and are still looking into mods? Holy crap! That scares me a little bit. Not of you, but me! If I get the Provari, and I'm still looking for mods...

But I get your drift. Even though I have enough batteries and an LT, I'm still on the hunt for something new. I actually kinda want a Volt or a Joyetech 510 cig look-a-like. I don't know why, but I do.

But I've been led to assume the Provari is the end of the road as far as a quality mod goes. I see a lot of Zmax people, and I've vaped both, and I want both!

But as of now it's just me, my Twist, my outdated LT, and, well, me....

Its cheap because theres no batteries or charger....if you have that already its "ok", they dont regulate power very well IMO.

Im a Provari user, my backups are Ego Twists. small, cheap, VV, good power regulation.

Just something I can be rough with and not care about if it breaks.

Sorry OP, I'll leave this thread alone for now and let some more people come in with suggestions.

I had an expensive pair of sunglasses once (gift). Lost em somewhere. Now I only buy the "cheap sunglasses" and never worry about em. I'm like that with a PV too. I don't want to worry about it. Like you said:

Now, don't get me wrong, the Provari is a fantastic device.

So... any of the VV mods are fine. I use vv box mods because I actually like the form factor. They fit into my pocket like a pack of cigs used to. They don't roll either. They are also two-battery systems that use Li-Ion not IMR so I get most of a day on two 14500 batteries. I also carry a spare set of batteries. Twists are commonly recommended too. They are at a good price point. I've heard stories about them having some failure issues after about a month or two (but it's totally rumor...IDK what % actually fail). Make sure to get genuine Joye stuff IMO, or go with another make/model. Some of the knock-offs are...crap. Joye has a 14500 unit that is VV too with swappable batteries.

If you don't mind the larger form factor...a PV that uses 18650 batteries will last longer.

These aren't a bad choice because they're a complete kit. If you already have plenty of chargers, batteries, etc, etc, then not so much.

I also agree with Pops, in fact I still think the little $35 MadVapes VV box is about the best inexpensive VV PV's out there. Mine has spent enough time being tossed around in a duck blind the last two seasons that I probably should be getting it it's own Federal Duck Stamp.

lots of people picking up the new itaste MVP.... didn't feel like looking up a link since there is about 25 places you can get it from

only reason i passed it up was i wanted an ohm reader on my first mod which it doesnt have so i ended up with this kit for $75

besides knowing anything tech related, there will be a version 2 mvp soon enough that probably does have it and i can buy one then lol

if you want a tiny device, might i recommend a micro ego or the SD keyring by trog. ive used the volts, and the micro egos and the micro ego put it to shame imo. the volt couldnt fire any lr and to me it didnt cut it.

i bought a mod *after* my provari as well. but it was a totally different type of device, a bottom feeder. im able to dip and reload without going through the normal rigormoral. plus its smaller, lighter and its mechanical. i use it for stealth vapes and any time i want a lightweight compact device. i plan to use it on the ski slopes because of the compactness and the mechanicalness. im not sure how the provari would perform in sub degree weather. im sure it would be fine but im not sure, plus its heavy and id rather not have it while skiing.

Ya, my Provari was not the last PV I've bought  , and would you believe that I have the first SD Keyring ever sold commercially. Not that I have a problem or anything.

You want a little VV Box mod for skiing that is simplistic with a good on/off switch. Remember too that many switches are tough to use with ski gloves on.

Add me to the "bought mods after provari" list. Bought my vari in May, and since late July I haven't used it at all. I love my vv gripper and my innokin MVP. The provari gets hauled around in my back up bag but hasn't been used in months. I have considered selling it given that I never use it anymore. I only keep it because I like 18650 mods. I did purchase back up grippers that I use as a go to before my provari.
