Stillare rda keeps shorting on dual builds

I'm a novice cool builder and I tried making dual coils onto my rda but for some reason it always shorts. I can hear it heat up for a couple seconds and see slight smoke for one of the post but then stops. I am thinking maybe I tighten the screws too tight or the ends of my coils cross the other coils. Any suggestions?

What ohms does it read?


I'm thinking the coil is shorting on the top cap.

Right now it's staying at .47. But I have done dual coils with higher ohms and it still shorts (if that's even necessary info) and I'm not sure what you mean by top cap, I dry fired it and it does as I said above

could be a center pin contact issue between the mod and the rda.

Make shure ur coils arent touching the posts or the bottom and not the inner sides of ur cap

What battery are you using? If it's protected it could be tripping the circuit.

Works perfectly fine with single cool and it is an unprotected battery I think, red IMR 18650 2000maH

Well then, maybe the battery is over taxed; I bet if you measure the voltage across the coil under load it's dropping below 3 volts.
Did you try another battery?
Do you have a sony vtc5?

How old are your batteries?

As batteries get older, the voltage drops faster under load then slowly rises back up.
