So I bought one of the members magnum mod. Have been using it a couple days. checked it and 4.10 or so at the atomizer connection. I just switched back to my original 510 battery and got a much better hit. So I switched between a couple 510 original batteries and the magnum 3.7 modded flashlight. I get larger hits from the stock batteries. It doesn't matter if it is one of my manual 510 batteries or my 510 auto battery, they all give a better/bigger hit.

Can someone explain?

Could be a bad connection or undersized wire in the mod. If you use anything under 28AWG wire, it can't push the full current and you get a voltage drop under load that won't show on a multi-meter reading taken unloaded. Ditto if there is a poor solder connection inside.

Check the ohm reading on your rear end click switch, they are notorious for having a 1/2 ohm + of resistance. also the shell is the ground check the ground from the rear click to the atty connector should be no resistance.

Looks like I will have to rebuild it tonight. I started to dis-assemble it and it looks scarey. Will get correct wire and re-solder. Who knows what the wire is, and some pretty globby solder, no shrink wrap connections, etc. Hard to believe it worked.

Maybe a warning to others that all mods sold on here are not what they appear to be.....

ok, I have rebuilt both I bought. running 18500 batteries, neither out perform the stock 510 battery. better vaper, throat hit from the stock 510 battery. I have tested both magnum mods, they get 4.2 to the atomizer fitting. Now when I test them with the atomizer screwed in they both get around 3.6. Is there something in the stock 510 battery to up the voltage? Has anyone ever tested the stock battery with the atomizer screwed in?

Maybe that is it...or the missing part, smart and solid! think you are on to it. I believe there are so many mods floating around here now that have been bought and sold and then 'remodded' by who knows who.... could even be by one of those who start their post by " I have never soldered before but want to build...... " or "so the top is a liitle loose, but still works" it just turns back and forth when you screw your atomizer on and off a little. oh and the switch nut is now gone, but it still works, and it comes with 2 unprotected batteries.... great deal eh? or wait did someone have a post about one exploding on him? get the picture? I just know I learned my lesson and will only do my own for myself, not buy a used mod that who knows who built and who else along the way messed with it......

at least that is one man's opinion..
