Washing my Protank II and puprosely left the gaskets in the end caps. Started rinsing and wouldn't ya' know it...one of 'em popped out and down the drain. This is the FIRST time I didn't plug the drain. I didn't notice until I was putting it back together so the chances of finding it in the pipe is slim/none.

I'm going to go check the local Home Depot to see what they have. If they don't have what I'm looking for, any suggestions on where to find replacement gaskets?

They should have it. I've purchased replacement gaskets at my local hardware store on multiple occasions. I can't imagine Home Depot having less of a selection.

However, should that be the case, perhaps a dedicated plumbing outlet might have the necessary hardware?

I found what I think is one of those gaskets the other day when I was sweeping out the garage ( I have a utility sink out there). I do the washing and cleaning of my vaping supplies there. Now all I have to do is figure out where it came from!:)

Spares...kinda like putting a car back together.

Ace Hardware carries a pretty good selection of o-rings. In a pinch, teflon tape may work- just don't apply too much, or over-tighten the threads. Teflon is slippery, and it is hard to tell how tight the connection actually is becoming.

Ack, anything but teflon tape. I really really don't like it. Too slippery.

Home Depot was a bust. They have O-rings in approx the right size but the ID is just a tad too small 7/16 where the tank end cap is approx. .470". I decided to go ahead and take the trap off and see if the gasket was in there and it was long gone. While I was doing that, my wife asked to see what I was trying to replace. I showed her and she said to hold on 1 sec. She came back downstairs with 4 small hairbands she got from my daughter...they are the right size. My only concern now is how long they will last and whether or not they will leak. I put two of them on the top of the tank to keep it from leaking when stored but even on it's side it's not leaking.

Yeah, my wife is awesome! (but she still asks that I don't vape in her immediate vicinity)

Gotta' love a happy ending! Glad you have it sorted, for now. I have a Protank II, and can measure out the gasket, if you want. It should be metric. I'll look for a link for spares.
