Hey Guys,
I started a thread awhile back discussing the right mod for me and got some awesome assistance. I’ve decided to go with the HohmSlice both because it sits right in my price range and it has so many awesome TC options. However, before I place my order, I need to decide what tank I want to put on the mod. I’m not comfortable building yet, and for the sake of ease of use and time constraints, I want to go with a tank with replaceable atomizers – at least for now.
Now, in my very limited experience with vaping I’ve used two sub ohm tanks, the Innokin I Sub 5 (with my TC100) and the Smok Big Baby Beast (with my V8 Stick). Both tanks work well but I find myself gravitating much more heavily toward the BBB. I really enjoy the airflow on the Smok tank, which when left most the way open allows me to get a lot of vapor into my lungs quickly. With the I Sub tank I find myself inhaling for a longer period of time and still not getting the vapor production I’d like. I think more than anything it’s the nice open air flow and the ability to get massive vapor production that puts the Smok ahead for me. That said, I do notice less flavor with the BBB but don’t mind the tradeoff and have found closing down the air flow fixes the issue.
So, I’m in a bit of a quandary. It would seem the logical thing to do would be to buy a BBB and stick it on the HohmSlice – and since the HohmSlice is capable of TC with kanthal I could hypothetically use any of the Smok Baby Beast coils. That said, it would seem to me that having access to prebuilt SS coils, like I use in my I Sub, might be a better option. Generally the consensus seems to be that SS works much better in TC mode than Kanthal and many SS coils are built specifically for TC mode. As Smok isn’t offering any temp. control coils on the BBB I’m wondering if there is a similar tank, in terms of the things I’m looking for (big airflow, vapor production), that has stock SS coils and offers a similar vaping experience. I’ve heard the Tobecco Super Tank / Super Tank Mini discussed a few times as they can use the Tobeco SS Notch coils but I’m not sure how that would compare to the Smok Big Baby Beast.
I guess the short question is, BBB on my new HohmSlice? If not, what would you suggest?
I generally vape at around 400* with the ramp wattage set in the 40-60 range.
Thanks!!
