I've been lurking here for over a year. I went to my local shop around 16 months ago and said I wanted to get off cigs. They hooked me up with a simple set up, (spinner battery and some kanger clearo) 18mg juice and sent me on my way. I was off cigs from that day forward and I am eternally thankful.

I got tired of the cheap spinners crapping out and the Kanger tanks leaking. I knew I was in on the ground floor quality wise so I had no where to go but up. After much research I picked up a Provari and a few Aspire Nautilus tanks. I found some juice I really liked from Quacks juice Factory, 100% VG at 18mg nic. This setup has been my go to vape for around a year.

Recently, the upgrade bug bit so I picked up an Aspire Triton and a Sigelei mini 50 v2. Upon arrival I put the .4 ohm coil in the Triton, Added some of my favorite juice from Quacks (6mg nic rather than my usual 18, 100% VG) and set the Sigelei to 15 watt. (I did try the 1.8 ohm coil and 18mg juice with the Provari and it was fine, not much different than the Nautilus)

Woo Hoo, this thing is HOT! When I say HOT (with the Siegelei ) I mean the vape is HOT, too hot compared with the Provari setup. I take a mouth to lung hit and all I can do it cough. I can get a WAY bigger hit and cloud with the Provari at like 4.2 volts with a 1.8 ohm coil, and the vape is cool and pleasant.

At 25 watt, taking just a mouth hit and blowing it out I'm still not getting all that much cloud and its way too hot to inhale. I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong other than not taking straight lung hits but I can't imagine doing that as hot as it feels.

IS that something I just need to work my way up to and get used to? (part of me feels like "what's the point?" More vape and less nic means more vape to suck in with less nic. I mean ...., I almost already want to vape less and get more nic since that is the end result of what I'm trying to accomplish here. Sure blowing big clouds is neeto, and I can taste the juice better with this new setup but if I can't get a decent hit, which I can't at this point I'm failing to see the point)

Maybe sub ohm just isn't my bag. IF not that's ok, I just wanted to see what all the hubub was about.

If anyone has some suggestions, I am all ears.

Your vaping it wrong with that setup, simple as that..

You can't mouth to lung with this setup on the 0.4ohm coil, yes it will be way too hot..You need to use the 1.8ohm coil if that is your vaping style..

The 0.4ohm coil needs to be vaped at 25w - 30w with full air (air control on the base) open and lung hits, you need to pull harder and inhale direct to the lungs, this will cool your vape and you will get a lot of nic which is why you have to lower the amount...try it !!..give it chance, we have all thought, maybe sub ohm isn't for me but most of love it now.. if not and you just don't like it, the 1.8ohm coil at 10w - 13w is the way to go :thumb:

I know a few people who can use a 1.8 coil and mouth to lung all day, but when they try a .5 rda they cough and hack and look about as upset as one can.
Here is the thing. ....
So far all. ..3 people like the 1.8 coils.
It works for them.
If that is the case, I would say stick with it!
If 1.8 does not satisfy you. Go down gradually to 1.5 then 1.2 to 1.0 and see where your taste lies.
You don't have to sub ohm.
Vape what feels right.
It may change in a year or so.
With regulated mods you can get a really great Vape at what ever ohm you decide on.

Unless one of the greats comes on and shoots holes in my post.
In that case,
"I forgot my meds today. I need to go lie down. "
Cheers!
