As per the topic.

When do I change the liquid or vape till about air hole level?

Then when do I change the coil?

I used the 1st coil about 2 weeks till now. And it just tasted like bbq smoke for 1 puff and after that it was slightly ok. Tasted like overbbq-ed.

Think it's probably time.

So, do I remove the tank + coil assembly and dump the whole thing into hot soapy water, rinse then dry?
Then replace the coil + wick?

Sounds like your getting dry hits now, the cotton is burnt so yeah, time for a new coil. Dismantle the tank, soapy water is fine, rinse, dry, pop in a new coil and prime it.
Happy vaping

Just to add, the Kanger coil juice holes are pretty high up so never vape it below those holes.

Hey there @lunloon

You're probably at the point where you would want to change the coil. You're on target with the liquid level. You could "tip" the tank to try to pull a little extra to the coil, but it probably wouldn't be worth the risk of a burnt hit.

Also on target with cleaning. I wouldn't dump the coil into soapy water, as it's probably going to get trashed (unless you try to rewick it yourself). Be careful pulling the glass off, as it can be "finicky" and could crack. I broke one not too long ago (glad they sent a spare) when I was removing to clean.

If the juice is a similar flavor, you could just reload the tank and put in a new coil. I usually rinse my tanks once a week with hot water and let airdry. When I'm feeling really motivated, I'll wash with soapy water.

Typically I would suggest changing the coil whenever the flavor or vapor production is noticeably diminished or if it begins to taste burnt for any reason. You can wash any part of the tank aside from the coils but want to be sure you rinse it thoroughly and let it dry completely. If I'm using the same flavor I typically just refill it without washing. If I'm changing flavors I will rinse the tank, I only fully disassemble and wash it with soapy water about once a month.

When you remove the wick you can dry fire the coil and rinse it under water and then take a look at it to decide if it needs changed. I have had coils that last months and typically re-wick several times in between having to re-coil.

I wished I've seen this last night. Spent 30 mins cleaning out the tank, and re-coiled. So now I got it to be 0.6ohms instead of 0.5ohm. And now changed the flavour so I am not even sure if it is working right (like if the taste I am getting is the right one or not, but heck, it's doable). But it's not exploding so that's nice.

I probably should practise making some more coils.
