the more ohms the less wattage you are going to get (on a mech) and there is a point when the low power won't vaporize your juice.
now on regulated devices it is the same, although you can get away with higher omhs as you can crank up the voltage or wattage but there is still a limit just don't know it for myself.
but if you are in the range it should work, you will notice in diminishing taste and vapor production once you get close to that limit but it isn't unsafe to cross it if that is what you are looking to find out

If it vapes well for you, then it's good. A few years ago everyone was vaping 2.5-3.0ohm coils on regulated 3.7v batteries.
The limit for regulated mods is dependent on the mod used. How many amps are able to be pulled through the chip, voltage cap, etc. For Mechanicals...lower is quicker heating and generally considered "better". What's truly better is what works for you. 
I wrap mine with 9 turns of 30 gauge with a 2mm ID that is around 1.8 Ohms. I tried an ID of 2.5mm the other day and all it did was just waste more juice. But I didn't notice anymore vaper production. 2mm ID seems to be perfect for my R91.
Considering the VV/VW devices that are now available on the market, I'd say it's pretty much pointless to run anything reading at above 1 ohm on a mech.

I'm not following how you can "waste more juice" without getting more vapor, where is the juice going?
