Suggestions for a good eGo style battery and a clearo/tank?

Thanks. I just spent some time googling those.
I was aware of cartomizers and at least two kinds of clearos (bottom coil and those with wicks).
But I had never heard of carto tanks.

I was looking at the Kanger Protank 2 and see that they sell both 1.8 ohm and 2.4 ohm replacement heads.
The Aspire BDC I was using is dual coil 1.8ohm.
Does that mean that the Kanger 1.8ohm would be about the same or is it a single coil, so would actually be lower effective resistance and produce more (and warmer) vapor?

I'm starting to see why so many people recommend a VV battery. I suppose having the ability to change the voltage would be good for getting the best results out of different cartos/clearos.

These are the cartos I use with my 3.7 volt mod and 3.7 volt Kgo. Resurrector also known as the SmokTech 1.7 ohm single coil carto. I ALWAYS used single coil- found dual coil gave a very weak non existent cool vape. I believe before you dive into buying another battery you may want to try some single coil delivery devices.

I'm actually very satisfied with the vape I get with my X2 battery and Smoktech 2 ohm single coil cartos.
It's the constant topping off and worrying about overfilling that comes with cartos that I'm trying to get away from.
So what I'm looking for is a way to duplicate the vape I already get, but with a clearo or some other option that I don't have to fill as often and that I can easily see when it does need refilled.
I'm only wanting to switch batteries to hopefully get something cheaper or more reliable, although now I'm wondering if I need VV to get good performance with a clearo.

They are all bottom coil- bottom coil the coil is further from the lips thus a cooler vape. Top coil the opposite. The Kanger single coil would be a far better vape BUT realize some have issues and need to "tweak" it.

LOVE SmokTech cartos. That's why I suggested a carto tank. To look best you'd get a 1.6 ml tank...add to that the 1-1.8 ml juice in the cartos and you have 2.6- 3.4 ml of juice to vape before refilling.
Carto+Tank- a Carto with a hole punched in it. Carto is than placed in a glass, metal or plastic tank which is filled with juice- juice saturates Carto by way of hole in Carto. My Cartos with a tank lasts, before tight draw occurs: light juices- 80-90 ml. dark juices- 50-60 ml.

Here's a vid just to show you the basics.

I guess what I'm trying to say is there are so many diff clearomizers out there...each and every one has it's Fanboys and Haters. You're enjoying the vape with the ST 2.0 ohms cartos BUT the problem is the constant refilling. The carto tank solves that issue. I'm so very leery of suggesting clearos cuz it's either a HUGE hit or a MAJOR fail.
I use the top coil Vision brand Vivi Nova 1.8 ohms or the SmokTech 1.7 ohms XL + carto-tank....again both systems have their Lovers and Haters.

I was aware of cartomizers and at least two kinds of clearos (bottom coil and those with wicks).
The bottom and top coil both have wicks. Generally really can't see the bottom coil wicks unless you look closely. Top Coil= long wicks. Bottom Coil= short wicks.

Second, any suggestions for a clearo/tank type system that is easy to use, and will work well with a 3.7v eGo type battery?

I got a VIP Ego Kit for Christmas.

The Ego Battery doesn't work, and the juice was, erm, nasty.

However........The clearo's they packed are simply the best I've used to date. I'm vaping on one now on a Ego-T battery and it's awesome, truly awesome. It's a CE5 kinda tank - can't see the wicks really, few holes down the "shaft". It's the poodles noodles though for vape intensity and taste (I hope I'm not just "lucky" here however, but I've tried both and I am genuinely impressed)

Worth a shot if you can get em'. Not a rebuild, it's a use and throw away, but my god it's great.

Just my :2c:

Is this the one?

$11.84 CE5 Electronic Cigarettes Round Mouth Atomizer (7-Pack / 1.6mL) 7-pack - grey + translucent + red + green + pink + yellow + blue / 2.1ohm at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

If so they call it a CE5 but not like the CE5's I know.

Hi mill4023
I use a 1.8 in my Mini Pro Tank 2 the lower coil gives me a nice vape with my ego twist battery at 3.9 volts
I use 100% vg and the vapour production is real good not that hot thou more on the cool side

Yep, that looks about right! For me, it matches my iClear30 for vape (I know....I know....it just works!)

It's VIP branded, and just noticed little wicks on the base trying to escape/breathe/whatever...it vapes nice though!

:D

I used to use VV and VW stuff, but figured out after awhile I really didn't "need" it and was happiest with a good ol' traditional eGo. I think probably the Joyetech eGo is the "best", but I've had excellent experience with Smoktech's versions. I like the passthrough type the best, as I'm almost always either at my laptop, or on my couch or in my bed where I have a Dash internet device (to plug into) in both places. Of course, I unplug when I'm not sitting or lying down. :) One thing about the new Smok passthrough I adore is the magnetic connection for the cord. No more unscrewing little caps and trying to get the mini USB into the tiny slot...then worrying about where to put the cap where I won't lose it (or forget to put it back on when I'm out and about). Pop the magnetic cap on the eGo..presto! I'm charging while I'm vaping! Pop it off..easy peasy! No being careful to not jerk the USB and break it, no forgetting the little cap. And the magnetic passthroughs are awesome little devices. Smok regulated runs about 3.6-3.7v. The Joye run at 3.3v. Both work well for me because I use 2ohm for my topper. (Joye doesn't make a magnetic PT..but wish they did!)

I like carto tanks with Boge cartomizers (single coil, two hole). Carefree vaping that makes me VERY happy!

I'm using a HyperTank with a EVOD battery. I had the ProTank I on it and I found that if it got to less than about a third of a tank, it would flood very easily. The HyperTank gives an excellent draw and a very satisfying plume of vapor. The only problem I have with the HyperTank is the size disparity between it and the battery (it's close to double the size) and it needs an extra piece to make it look nicer. Check out this review and see what you think Kangertech HyperTank, Plus TANK WEEK GIVEAWAY! -IndoorSmokers - YouTube .

So I'm still considering trying out the carto tank option.
In the meantime, I still needed some batteries and didn't want to keep ordering X2's.
I looked at the Kanger EVOD kit and for about the same price as ordering two batteries alone, I got two 650mah batteries, plus a charger, two EVOD tanks, and 5 replacement heads. I figured that was worth trying out the EVOD tank, even if I end up not liking it.
These batteries are nice. Much smaller than the 650mah X2's I had and the buttons are really nice.
I like the build of the tanks and I'm getting tons of vapor, but it's still a little cool and the flavor is muted. Not unexpected based on what everyone told me here. :)

But I also noticed that the heads it came with are 2.5ohm, which according to Kanger's own chart, should really be run at 3.9V to 4.2V.

I'm thinking I'll try a 2.2ohm or 1.8ohm atomizer head and see if that helps the flavor any. If not, I guess I'll give the carto tanks a try.

I really do like the look and convenience of this EVOD setup, so if I can get the flavor better, I'd probably stick with it.
