After a few days, I'm very happy with the Aegis Legend. batteries drain a lot faster than I would have expected

I did learn, along the way, that I really hate my backup mod. It worked, but it's a major pain every time you need to change the battery.

So, any suggestions on a fairly low cost mod that uses an 18650 flat top battery for back up purposes? I won't need to go over 40 watts, and normally less than that. (The Aegis is set at 13 right now, with the nautilus tank.)

how many volts though? It’s more than watts that determines battery drain. I’m vaping 1.9ohm at 23w and I’m getting a nice though cool DL vape out of it. It’s still 6.5v though so my batteries won’t go a full day.

Basically all single battery mods are 80w+ so you could get literally anything. If you still want supertough for your backup an ageis original might be good. It will take any battery. They were down to $35 for a while but they may have gone back up again. Also it’s got a screw thread battery cover so that may even be a step back from your current backup.
Another possibility is see what you can get on sale.

Anything over a month is astounding in a cartridge coil imho. That means theres a trick to it.

bomb...I think you may be taking my "Zenith coils last 'forever'" comment...a little more seriously then I intended it to be...

4 set-up Rotation...9Watt-10Watt MTL...50/50 ejuice...Zenith coils last (me) 2-4 months...

It's a really nice screw thread battery cover, though. Smooth and unfinicky to position. Plus it has the nifty little handle. Sure, popping the back off the Colossal to change the battery is quicker/easier, but I doubt if the mod, though sturdy, is as rugged as the Aegis.

Or waterproof. Or milspec and able to be run over by a truck. It is just a backup though.

Yes, but what if it becomes the frontup?
Then there is clearly a dictionary based issue.

I do agree personally. The big issues though are if the only reason to replace the current backup is because the battery compartment is annoying to access the ageis won’t improve things. Also price. They WERE $35 for a while. No idea what they’re at now though.

Currently...my FAVORITE Mod is the Sinuous P80...primarily based on its INCREDIBLE hand comfort...(I have 3 of 'em)...

It's relatively small and lightweight...80W...Pre-Heat...TC...uses one 18650...spring-loaded 510...Fire Panel (replaces fire button)…(so fires no matter which way you pick it up [GREAT when driving])...priced as low as $25...

If your batteries are draining super fast you may want to update it makes a huge difference.

I updated mine on Windows 10 and trust me when I say if I can do it, anyone can do it.

Anna
Though I tried it on windows 8.1 with some anti-malware also installed and had a hell of a time. Windows10 seems to be the superior tool in this case.

I did the update for the Aegis as soon as I got home, had no issues. I just vape a lot. Reading around, the Aegis goes into some kind of sleep mode if you don't hit it for 10 minutes. But unless I'm asleep, it's not often going to make it that long.

I'm considering that Sinuous P80. But honestly, it's not that much more to get another Aegis Legend, and I really like it. Maybe I'll just get another. And maybe I'll just decide that it's such a rare occasion that I need that backup that the crappy one I have now can get me through in an emergency. I need to flip a 3 sided coin to decide, but I'll probably just think about it bit before I decide.

You guys have been very helpful. ECF always has, and I appreciate it.

Maybe...you ought to get one of those handy-dandy "I Saved With Vaping" Banners...then...maybe you ought to get one of each...

Looks like you've been vaping since 2011...so I'm pretty certain that your Banner would show that you've easily saved enough to cover a $25 Sinuous P80 AND a $55 Aegis Legend...
