Hi! I am sure glad I found this forum. You all seem to know alot about this.
There is alot of information out there, and there are so many options it is confusing me. I am looking for recommendations...

My husband and I both smoke about 1.5 packs a day, each. We want to get something that will feel as similar as possible to smoking, so it will be easier to switch over, as, if its not, Im not sure if we will be able to switch. Especially something that will have the same ease of draw as an analog, and will produce a comparable amount of vapor, as smoke.
And that would offer flavor options, and esp. that they taste good.
Also, we don't want to go Up in nicotine intake in switching, but would like to stay the same, and eventually gradually go down.
And we smoke alot, so we are looking for something cost-effective.
We are in the US, so to make shipping easier, we'd rather use US suppliers.

My husband also started one of those free trials from some place in CAN called royal blues, managed to cancel before getting charged (whew!)... but was very strong nicotine levels made us both feel sick, and their website didnt work, and had no time to use the free trial, as it ended before we even had the product for a day. So thought we need to do some research before trying again to order anything!
So far I've looked at greensmoke.com (seems overpriced), also some "original" in China with E9, U9... then theres all these Ks and numbers.. and parts.... and half the websites I find seem to just be ads from affiliates for multiple brands...

It's just too confusing.
But from reading so far...
something cigarette like, no longer than 100s probably
needs a compatible PCC available,
PCC hopefully around the size of a king hard pack or smaller
2 piece, but with empty fillable cartridge options to explore flavors
(doubtful we will stick with tobacco flavor, would love to stop tasting tobacco! 14 years of tobacco flavor is plenty enough!)
enough vapor to feel like smoking
easy enough draw to feel like smoking
flavors need to taste good, but dont have to be strong
the same amount of nicotine as smoking (240mg - 360 mg total intake a day with our brand)
and the ability to puff just about as often as analogs, eg potential for mild chaining (cause we do) without getting sick from nicotine overload
as long as possible battery life

I can see there are alot of experienced vaporers on here.. so my question is, what model would you recommend? What would be the easiest to transition with? Which company, which model, what website..?
And also, any tips in general on an easier transition..?

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!

Thank you!

I started with the joy 510 and liked it. My wife still uses it. I bought it from health cabin in china because it was the cheapest at the time and the shipping only took 5 days. Now I hear alot about cignot for 510's. I now use a eGo because of the battery life. I had the mega batteries on the 510 and vaped alot and they only lasted just over one hour for me. If you want a 2 piece look into the cartomizer models.
For the juice you will not find many that taste like ciggs. I like drewbacco from nhaler and tobacco from tasty vapor. Now my favorite vape is atomic fireball from tasty vapor. Lots of good supplyers on this forum. I did not like the juice from china it has a perfume taste to me. Hope that helps :)

My 3rd e-cig brand is what got me of analogs. It is a Pure Smokers Ace (KR808D-1) with a manual battery, from puresmoker.com. I also got a KR808D-1 from CigEasy.com with an automatic battery. With the KR808D-1, I am vaping 18 mg liquid, and am satisfied. This is half the strength I used in my 1st 2 e-cigs and was not satisfied with them. For me the batteries last a couple of hours of heavy vaping, the cartomizers last about the same. I usually changed carts when I change batteries. Carts are refillable but performance is not as good as when new. You can buy unfilled or prefilled carts. I have been using e-cigs since 11-21-2009. I have been analog free since 1-3-2010. Hope you find something.

It sounds like you have pretty much decided on the KR808D. This one sounds like it would likely meet all of your needs and is a good solid unit. You can get a PCC for it, lots of flavor options available, right size and super convenient!! The two piece units are really the most hassle free ecig currently on the market. The only thing I find them a bit lacking with is the vapor production. I don't however think this will be enough of an issue to turn you off to this model. It is not that the vapor production is bad with this model, it just isn't as much as say the 510. It is still enough to satisfy though in my opinion. I think you will be happy with the choice of the KR808D. It is at least a good starting point.

The other model I would suggest is the 510 manual. It is a solid good three piece model. Vapor production is excellent and flavor is good. The only draw back with this model is the shorter battery life. This can easily be made up for by getting the PCC. Either way you decide to go, I think you will be pleasantly surprised by how easy the transition is. I never planned on quitting smoking with these things, it just happened. And this coming from a 35 year, 1.5 ppd smoker. It took me about 2 weeks to transition to only the ecig. Many though have put down the cigs on day one! I would suggest not putting a lot of stress on yourself. Just let it happen.

I would also suggest getting a few different types and mg of liquids. Each of us is very different in the mg level that keeps us satisfied. Since you already know that the original level you tried is too much, you are way ahead of most! This can be the trickiest thing to switching over. You are already part way there. There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to what mg will work for you. I know people that smoked lite cigs and only half a pack a day, that are not satisfied with anything under 36mg and others who smoked like a fiend that get sick on anything higher than 12mg. So you will just have to see what works for you. I know I get terrible indigestion and anxiety when I use too high of a mg and crave an analog if too low. Your body will let you know. When you get it right, you will not be craving an analog and you will feel normal. Wishing you the best.

I am ordering a kr808 from vapor 4 life tomorrow , I have to wait to talk w/them because I am not sure which kit to get, or to just by the parts that I want. My biggest concern is battery life, I am not worried about a PCC because rarely am I anywhere too long without power. They claim that the XL battery will last 8 hours. I am choosing them due to allot of research on this site and they seem to get great reviews on product and service. I believe they are supposed to also have the best warranty out there. I already ordered some juice from rocky mountain vapor tonight free shipping and great juice prices. Good luck with your choice and hope you post how it's going.

The wife and I both ordered Joye 510's. Hers from Nhaler in white and mine from Awesome Vapor in black. Each cost $54 shipped. She smoked about a pack/day of Ultra Lights and I smoked 1.5 packs of full flavored analogs each for 40+ years. She vapes 18mg first thing in the morning and then 12mg the rest of the day and I vape 36/24 then 12 in the evening. We both were off analogs completely within three days. We both still use the Joye 510's. She uses hers exclusively; I do at work with a PCC, but a big battery mod when at home (Xhaler).

Hi & Welcome!

Most of the juice suppliers offer Zero %, Low, Medium, High & Extra High nicotine level products.

My final decision came down to the KR808D-1 and the Joye 510. I bought the 510 from Cignot and I can't say enough good things about them!

Here's a good evaluation on each: KR808D-1 ... Joye 510

Check this out: COUPONS

Hope this helps you ... Best of Luck!

I smoked a pack a day of lights and I use 24 mg juice, I use the 510 and it very well for me. I would order extra batteries as they do die pretty quick, I make it an hour or 2 of heavy vaping which isn't too bad. A PCC would work too but id probably still get another battery. I stopped day one with mine, but ended up picking up smoking a few at work to kill the smoker smell of others.

I been thinking about one of these but I think I might go with a mod instead. The worst time for my batteries is when I am home on the PC and constant vaping. I like to build stuff so I might try my hand at building a mod, seems fairly easy.
Thank for the suggestion

Any ideas on how to kill the smoker smell on others lol

The PassThru IS great ... the standard battery is 3.7 vdc and 150 mAH ; on my PC, the PassThru is 4.12 vdc. and up to 2000 mAh. ... Quite literally, it is SMOKIN'

Their smell? ... Maybe buy one of those aerosol Hand Sanitizers and spray 'em down?

@oh Tommy-I have been debating on a PT, I have seen mixed reviews on them. Did you get yours from cignot?

.

I did ... but, I like to build, like you, and I've been spending a lot of time in the Modder's Forum checking stuff out. I'm into Amateur (Ham) Radio.

The USB straight PT is amazingly simple - my PC's USB port puts out 4.47 vdc and you just use the red & black to your atomizer. You really don't need the in-line battery - get a battery fitting and decide what kind of enclosure looks good to you.

A USB cable, a battery fitting, a momentary switch and an enclosure is all you need!

If you add an in-line battery holder, if will charge the battery up and you can un-plug from your PC and be free. An AC wall plug to USB ($2) is nice and then no worries about your PC.

Thank you all for advice!
We went ahead and ordered a starter kit from vapor4life, looking at the site I was very impressed with the flavor varieties and options and 45 day trial policy, and I am very excited to try it out! I guess we'll just see how we like it. I guess I think Id like this better than a 510 just for the sake of battery life, and also the 2 piece design.

I read somewhere that using VG e-liquid to refill would increase the vapor amount, and the video on V4L said the usb Passthru seems to do better for vapor too (and half the time Im on the computer anyway), so I'll try it as is, and if not enough vapor I'll try those options, and if that doesnt work I guess I'll consider a 510.
I am so excited, I feel like a kid a few days before Christmas :)

Thank you all very much for your time!

God Bless,

Paradox
