So, if someone could enlighten me with the pro’s and con’s between the 510 and 401 I would really appreciate it.........unless there is another kind I do not know about yet? I can’t really afford to buy one of those big Silver bullet type ones right now, so out of the question unless there’s one out there near 50.00. Which I haven’t found.

Also, what I'm perplexed about is how when switching bats on atty’s , how they sometimes vape or taste different even when they are the same type unit??? What’s up with that?
Sorry this was so long, but I’m just two steps away from buying a real pack of smokes and I really don’t want to. Somebody stop me please!

Until recently, the 401 was only available with an auto battery. The 510 was available with a manual battery, which gave you much more control then the 401 auto batteries. So the 510 got a good rep as being a workhorse of a PV, with regard to throat hit, and the 401 auto's couldn't quite match it, performance wise. So the 510 got recommended to almost every new member that asked the question, "what should I get?". And as more people got them, more people would recommend them.

However, now that the 401 has a manual battery option, it performs on par with a 510, with regard to vapor, but still has better flavor, better battery life, is smaller, and also gives a good throat hit. (New manual 401 kits are only available in black, but it's a very sleek looking unit).

As far as switching batteries changing the taste on the same atty, it could be a few things. A new battery replacing an almost dead one could effect the taste and vapor. Or a cart that just happens to be running low at the same time you change batteries. Or possibly a battery that got some juice inside of it could effect the taste. Can't really think of anything else, except that one battery might operate at a higher nominal voltage, or one is dying and runs weak.

I can tell you one thing about my asthma since I started vaping and I've been vaping about a month now. I feel better when I'm vaping. When I started vaping I pretty much put the analogs down right away because I liked the smooth cleanness of the vapor, it just felt better, tasted better and well, more pure if that makes any sense. But, I still smoked in-between here and there and I have smoked exactly 8 pks. of analogs while vaping up until just a little over a week ago.

I had been vaping nicely with out smoking for about a week but I didn't have enough charge on my KR808D-1's and my other bats and kits had not arrived yet, I had a really stressful day and decided to but a pack. That one pack sent me to the hospital.

I have been only vaping since I got back from my little ER visit, NO analogs, and have never felt better. The hard thing for me as I was referring to in my post is, I like a lot of heavy vape and flavor to keep me off analogs. Hence why I am looking for one more e-cig that I hope will satisfy my needs.

The fact about quitting smoking is you will feel worse before you feel better. Your lungs are going through a cleaning period and rejecting the build up of all the crap in analogs. You will tend to cough and wheeze more because of this and think, "I was feeling better while I was smoking," but this really is not the case. I quit cold turkey four years ago and was in the hospital numerous times after I quit. I asked my DR. WTF? That's what he told me, it will get worse before it gets better. He was right.

There is a video on one of the e-cigs sites that has a female DR. saying the exact same thing except she explains it in the correct medical terminology, I will try and find it for your wife and post the link for you. This will hopefully explain the changes your body goes through when you give up the analogs and will hopefully answers some questions for her.

I understand though, I still sometimes even now want an analog, but I won't do it this time if I can help it. I want to feel better and start working out again and it's just not going to happen if I keep smoking analogs.

I hope this helps.

You're right about them coming in white, but I was talking about kits. Besides, who really wants to wait 10 days for delivery from China for their 1st order? Down the road you don't mind waiting, but for that 1st kit, you want it NOW. :)

For m40x supplies, you can't go wrong with LitecigUSA. He's also got a GREAT price on flavorless nic liquid for mixing. Shawn takes care of his customers.
