Hi, I'm a new vaper. I started vaping around mid June, I bought some Evod pipes that were just tiny yet after a few weeks I stopped smoking after smoking half to a whole pack a day. Recently I decided to buy a mod to use at home while I used the evods when I went out.
I feel like that was a huge mistake on my part because I bought an eleaf istick 50w which I liked but then the battery got shot after the second charge (it lasted me like half a day) I went to exchange it and I got a Vamo 25w and I dont even know if its a v5 or 4 or whatever. But here's the thing I am trying it and it makes really tiny clouds (using a protank 3) enough for me to tell you the evods are making way better clouds it overheats and when I took it to complain about the girl at the store made really big clouds and made me feel like basically I was crazy!
also another thing is that I dont taste the flavor it always tastes like burning no matter what the wattage I put it to.
Can anyone help me out? am I using it properly any tips from anyone on here on how to use it or did I get taken for a ride. also can anyone recommend anything maybe if it would be a good idea to find myself another eleaf? I would really appreciate the help.

Try this real quick. Cover the air holes, and take a deep drag for a second without firing it. Then try to vape it. When you vape, try to draw more air through it too. Tanks like that work on a vacuum to feed the coil so you need to get air through it to get the juice through it. I had a protank 3 too and I had to prime it all the time.

Also, whenever you put a new coil head in there it helps to add a little juice to the sides where the wick is and let it soak in for about 30 seconds or so before you start vaping on it.

yeah, when I got my evods the guy that sold them to me told me to do that to the coil too so I always do that =)
You know what? I tried what you told me and it didn't taste so burnt I think I actually tasted the flavor for the first time that was great! that was a great tip! now if it wasnt so temperamental. How do I get it so that it gives me the normal cloud all the time rather than a tiny one and then it overheats?

If the mod is overheating you might not have a battery suitable for it. The tank shouldn't really overheat since it has juice in it and air is flowing through every time you use it. If it is, you might want to consider replacing the coil head. You could have a bad one installed.

As far as clouds, if you keep it primed you can raise the wattage slowly until you get something comfortable for you. The increased air from taking bigger drags will help you make bigger clouds. Also make sure that you keep the tank above 30% full. If you let it get too low it can affect the vacuum and affect flavor/vapor production.

Those tanks are very temperamental, but once you learn its quirks it isn't so bad.

Hello and welcome to the forum @Holyangemon. Glad to have you here!:)

"Pin hole" sized air holes really limits you.

Consider adding an airflow control valve to your Protank 3 and things will improve.

Good call. Its like turning the Protank into an Aerotank. I didn't even know those existed.
Version 1 came out soon after the original Aerotank was introduced. Each time Kanger updated the Aerotank the newer base became available. If I was using a Protank now, I'd go for the Version 3.

@Holyangemo, after using both the Protank 3 and Aerotank V2, I'd definitely recommend that base. For $6 its going to be a game changer for you I think. You will still need to prime, but with the increased airflow, you will get more vapor and you will still get good flavor.

Thanks for having me here Susan I think I'm really gonna like it here. :)
Wow I didnt even know these existed I think that I want to buy one now. So with more air intake it should increase the size of the cloud?
Sure will. You won't be able to do a direct lung hit but you won't feel like you are drawing air through a small straw.

Discount Vapors is out of stock right now (the link I provided) but Sweet Vapes has the v3 in stock.

might be "vapours tongue". Happens to every one, search the forum for help or try a quick fix, have a sip of concentrated lemon juice (only a sip) with some sugar and salt, vape after 5-10 minutes

Yeah I think that $6 is a drop in the bucket for an improved performance.
I'm still learning the stuff here Ive only been vaping for about a month almost so all this kind of stuff is super new to me :?:
We've all been there! I completely forgot to ask what ratio PG/VG you are using too. That can be a game changer as far as wicking and getting burnt tasting hits. Higher VG is a lot thicker so it doesn't wick quite as easily. Just a heads up.

You kinda lost me there lol, do you mean like the ohms and voltage that my mod is putting out?
