Isn't there a higher voltage battery out there? Why tweak the resistance to the point of cell damage..... I dont understand why we adjust the dangerous variable to boost wattage when we could adjust the voltage. Someone please chime in and tell me why this isnt practiced.

edit: I am not bashing sub or supersub ohming I am just curious as to the approach. I have some sub builds that I enjoy safely with high drain batteries and can appreciate why we build to increase watts...

Pushing limits sometimes seeds progress. There were some sub-ohm naysayers but my sub-ohm coils produce a more dense intense flavor than my supra-ohm. Perhaps super sub-ohm will spark progress; time will tell.

For all I care, people can run 0.00001 ohm coils. I'm just saying that there are more trees to bark at to achieve a higher wattage vape without pushing a battery to the point where voltage drop defeats the purpose.

I'm all for progress and experimenting. Then again there's a difference between pushing limits and bashing ones head against a (imo) misinterpreted dead end of diminishing returns. I think high-powered multi-cell regulated mods will be a better cloud chasing tool than any single cell mech.

A fog machine does not sub-ohm.

Just a thought, but consider that fog machines do not need to sub ohm. They don't have batteries with limits, they have 120v outlets with limits. That's how you wind up with a 3000 watt fog machine like mine that can fill a warehouse to literally white-out levels in 10 minutes :D

Excellent question. Honestly, I don't even know. Maybe size requirements or charge times? I'd love to hear more about this if anyone's in the know as well.

That being said, almost every vv/vw device will push beyond the 4.2v battery's highest voltage, but I find most are hindered by amperage limits. Seems to be changing though.

Actually, I entirely agree. High-watt multi-cell is the way of the future IMO. See above.

And as a super-sub-ohmer, I also agree with the diminishing returns. It seems like there's a big jump from .3-.2 ohms for me, but not nearly the same jump from .2-.1 IME. Plus, I incur the additional risk. And sometimes I burn my nose hairs.

It is my belief that progress takes risk. Certainly, inventors faced quite a lot of risk when we were first learning to fly. But that's why we have test pilots who vape sub-ohm at mock 8 in the cockpit :)

How do you inhale nose hair burning heat w/o starring on 1000 ways to die?

I was j/k, my friend. Actually, I have the opposite problem, the warm vapor and huge dense cloud condenses on my mustache when I exhale and I have to wipe my face lol :)

My 0.5 ohm dual produces warm enough vapor that I've wondered if lung tissue damage from vapor heat is possible. Think I'll drill air hole bigger just to err on safety. I though your super sub might be like breathing dragon fire. What size air holes do you run to cool the beast's breath?

Haha... 2 1/8"x1/4" slots :D no flavor though... That's what I've got my trident for... .86 ohm dual twisted 32... Must say, quite a lot cooler of a vape :p

The first picture is a one second drag on the Trident, dual twisted 2x32 on 5/64", cotton wick, .86 ohm. The vapor size and density is not comparable to the next coil...

The second is a very light 1 second pull (basically all standing vapor generation with very little airflow) one second drag on the UD igo-T which is dual twisted 4x24 on 9/64" with cotton wick at .12 ohms. The flavor drops off by a huge margin compared with the trident.
