How do you add a touch of sweetness tho without funking up the coil/wick?
I know I could just add some % of flavored juice but how long until the buildup is back

I've tried varying amounts of sucralose, ethyl maltol (same as cotton candy flavoring) and marshmallow to add sweetness to unflavored juice. With all three, gunk buildup is directly related to the amount of sweetening agent added. I've since stopped adding anything.

I've been vaping unflavored 12mg 100% VG and unflavored 50/50 for the past week. My coils and wicks are as clean as a whistle.

I've decided that unflavored is sweet enough by itself and doesn't require any additives.

I think I'm ready to make the switch. I have some 18mg/ml unflavored 100% VG from Nude Nicotine on the way. I'm hoping I can acclimate to it quickly. At the very least, I can use it to dilute some of the flavored liquids I have that I like but that get overwhelming quickly. It seems like the flavor in most juices is just WAY too strong for my taste. Boba's Bounty is the only juice I've been able to stick with as an ADV, but I'm starting to even tire of that after a year.

I tried going unflavored once before, over a year ago, with some MBV unflavored base. But it had a little bit of a nasty flavor and aftertaste to my palette. Nude Nic gets great reviews for being totally clean and flavorless.

Need suggestions on calculator apps. There's a ton of them out there just like to hear which ones are the favorites?

If you're on an Android phone, I highly recommend "POTV Ejuice Eliquid Calculator" since it has space to pick more than 4 flavors/additives (yes, it is needed occasionally).

Not really an issue if you vape flavorless, but it does help for making the flavors that you can drip in over top of the flavorless from time to time.

The Nude Nicotine unflavored is very clean. Only the slightest little hint of VG flavor. I vaped about 5ml of it, but then felt the need to add just a little flavor. I'm now going with a mix of 3:1 unflavored:Boba's... with the aim of eventually going 100% unflavored. I just need some training wheels for a little while to get there. :)

I had to ease into it as well. I did about 50/50 (unflavored vs flavored) for a while, and then went to about 75/25, then 90/10. Now I'm all flavorless except for the flavor that has clung to the bottle and tube (for about the last 60ml.

It tastes great when you go slow. [emoji6]

I know exactly what you mean about MBV... And I've found similar 'off-flavor' hints in several other vendors, but MBV was the most noticeable I have tried (it also happens to be the cheapest I've tried). This carried into the premixed flavors from these vendors too. The REO definitely made that more apparent.

I took a bet with my brother, who has been and avid dripper for over a year.. He just didn't believe me (probably cause he doesn't have a REO lol). I bet that I could tell him which juice came from each vendor we have, by the taste alone.

So, blind taste test! He chose three of his flavors he knew I hadn't tried each from different vendors. He dripped on my REO in another room, brought it to me. I vaped it out, then vaped several sqonkings of my own 75/25 pure vg/pg in the bottle between flavors...

Got em all right. I actually told him right away when he put the MBV in on the second one. I can hardly stand many of my MBV juices on my REO. That off-ness is so apparent with it, I just don't like them.

My REO really makes me appreciate quality juice, and has also definitely turned me on to cutting them with unflavored nic base. Which turns out cheaper in the long run.

I'm experiencing VG juice taste degradation after some time, say 1 or 2 weeks..

It's almost pure VG (95% VG/5 H2O), with no nicotine. The VG is USP grade, so hopefully no surprises on that side, from different vendors - thus the problem isn't related to a specific maker.
The water is duh distilled water or at a minimum low-minerals bottled water.

I tend to prepare my DYI liquid in batches of 200-300ml, so that I'm all set for a few weeks, but I had to reduce quantities because of that problem.. Anything (properly) stored for more than about ten days gets that off taste.

I've tried adding back a bit of nicotine (1mg/ml) to the mix, and noticed that it definitely helps in preserving the juice. Didn't try with PG though, for I'm sort of allergic to it.

Questions time..
Anyone else (using 0-nic, unflavored, pure VG juice) experiencing the same problem?
What do you think is happening to the 0-nic juice?

Thanks

I use 100% VG unflavored. I haven't noticed what you're experiencing, but when I diluted mine, I used either PG or VG, I found water tended to rust my coils. I've since quit diluting and just vape 24mg, 100% VG, unflavored. I also found that going up on the nic from 18-20 up to 24mg has reduced my consumption considerably, down from about 4 or 5 ml per day, to 2.5-3 per day.

Yes in a way I suspect the culprit to be the water addition, for pure VG alone doesn't taste funny even after months (I buy 1lt bottles, about 1/4 gallon)

Same here on the 1L bottles, you can pick up some food grade VG at lots of places, it's cheap and will likely eliminate the flavor shift.

Has anyone here tried any of the VG you can buy in stores like Walmart? It says food grade VG but was wondering if anyone experienced any quality or taste difference between commercial store bought VG vs. getting from Wizard Labs,MFS etc. I always go thru much more VG than PG so I always need to order double the VG and was thinking just to gert my VG at a local store and continue to get my nicotine and PG from WL or MFS.
Any opinions???

As long as the bottle says USP, it's pure 100% glycerol - medical grade, the one used by the pharma industry.
