I'm getting annoyed by my sister to stop vaping.

She works in the drug consuling industry, feeding her propaganda.

She claims it causes cancer and lowers lung cacpicty

According to the recently released FDA deeming regulations my car may now be a tobacco product. If I have to stop using it I won't be able to work. My coffee maker may also be a tobacco product, in which case I won't want to work. It might be that your keyboard is also tobacco, so you can't post here anymore... but BT can keep selling cigarettes everywhere in any quantity anyone wants.

Of course, it might be only those who vape and post to ECF whose keyboards are tobacco.

There is a recent UK TeeVee documentary that shows vaping has a minor impact on airway resistance. But that's about it. No - vaping does not shrink your lungs.

Really - what is the reverse logic here? That smoking would be better? And remember - this is still about harm reduction - no one ever said it was perfect.

Of course if you take Chantix™ and throw yourself under a bus as a possible side effect that's better. Yeah - no. :glare:

I forgot to add this but I pointed out that (RCP)royal college of physicians said e cigs were safer, she turned around and said no they didn't.

I honestly didn't want to make a thread about this, because I feel it's often to redundant.

That's ok - everyone needs a good rant now and then. Especially when the alternative is throwing a relative out the window.

The problem of dealing with people like your sister is or should be one of the most important subjects here. Far more important than raving about the last mod someone bought.

Tell your sister to mind her own business. Most people will mind their own business, while it's worth minding, but when it isn't they will mind yours. This minding of your business most often takes the form of concern, about your moral and physical well-being. It should tell you that it's time to FORCEFULLY tell that other person to shut up.

I am a reasonably intelligent person, and the people I know, know that. My best friend (who has passed) and my sister never believe a thing I say, especially if it is contrary to something they already believe. If they hear or read it elsewhere, then they start to believe me. Every time. I don't understand why I have to go through silly process over and over again with them. At any rate, I agree, you could try exposing your sister to whatever she'll pay more attention to- a printed version of the Royal College of Physicians report (make she is made aware of who they are) and/or other respected reports and/or articles, or YouTube videos.

Maybe something will get through. I empathize, it's tough seeing anyone steadfastly hold on to those views, especially someone close to you.

I am pretty sure it can lower lung capacity. But I think If one takes a break It will go back to normal. Depends on how much vaper you put In your lungs. Sometimes vaping causes me to wheeze, when I lay down.
