For the record, there is a kayfun lite thread.

I'd be interested to see prices and postings in 'The Russian' thread, but it managed to close itself for coop-hiding.

Im glad there is a kayfun Lite thread and am aware as many of us are....Oh did you see my Lite on a PAPS?

If you are interested in the Chinese copy(theft imo) of yet another device than you must know there is more than one thread and good luck.

Not sure what it means. I set down vertically, but are you talking about a draw without firing.

Do that before you put the thing down. I do the same thing with my gennies. No condensation. Orientation doesn't matter, Kayfun does not need to be kept upright.

Aoi is correct as usual...just inhale for a second after releasing the firing switch. The condensation is minimal comapred to gennys - so it is good practice to get in period when using coil setups.

Does anyone run cotton yarn as wicks in their Kayfuns? I quit using silica about a month ago in my drippers and I used some to setup my new lite. I can taste the silica pretty hard now, icky stuff.

I'm using rolled cotton in both Kayfun 3.1 and Lite and it's great.

I have had a roll of cotton yarn and a box of CVS rolled cotton sitting in my parts bin for over a month. Since I slowly switched over to silica base designed devices, I have been using pre-torched german silica and ekowool in all of my devices.

Perhaps, at some point, I will give the cotton yarn and rolled cotton a try.

As little as possible. Im at 1.2ish ohms and in the small evac chamber the wick and coil seem to get darker a bit faster. Every 3 days or so I disassemble down to the chamber, take it off and rinse the wick out with hot water. I also have a small soft brush I lightly run accross the coil and rinse. This is one set up I dont torch clean(no reason). I then dry wick with paper towel and of course check coils.
This to me will maintain the wick longer in turn allowing the wick to last longer.
I rinse all my attys with ekowool out.
I will hit the wicks with a torch before juice soak.
Anyway, my wicks last 3+ weeks

Def stick with pure Russian ekowool. I know steam monkey does sell the real deal. Most of the good stuff is in Poland and Russia but, watch for vendors that claim fibres based on pure Russian ekowool. *cough^.
The Steam Monkey crew knows much about media and have written several articles on "safe wicking" issues.

There is an air control. Most do prefer the airy draw. If anything, I feel the air control would only help if I was having wicking issues and needed to compensate for a substandard wick setup, ie - a bit too much wick stuffed in the evacuation chamber.
