I just got my kayfun mini 2.1 in the mail today. I've been using the kayfun clone (Dream) exclusively for the last two months and love the vape and flavor I get out of this cheap little atty. I was hoping the real thing (Kayfun) would improve the taste and vape even more but after vaping on mini for the past 3 hours I find the vapor is a tad bit thicker but the taste is off. Could this be due to machining oil? Should I have wash it first? Secondly, I chain vape (taking 5-8 long drags at a time) and the mini gets real hot after about 4 long drasto point I can feel the burn of the metal drip tip on my lips and I have to put it down to cool down. I want to love the Kayfun so bad but my cheap clone is outperforming this expensive atty. If i can't get these two things resolve classifieds here I come.

Of coarse you should clean it first as you should do with all new atomizers. Machine oil does kinda make your juice taste odd :)

It takes a bit of practice to get the kayfun set up properly. I wouldn't just sell it without experimenting a bit.

The gamma/brushed finally completed its 18-day journey from Germany today.

For the new Kayfun I used the wick that fed71 just posted, only with a single strand of 3mm ekowool. 4 wraps of 0.4mm ribbon kanthal and 1.27 ohms (just where I like it).

how it that build working Jacoji.

I love that it was a 30-second build. Initial performance seems just as good as the "figure 8", but no results yet for long-term wicking. I'll probably determine that as I work through the night.

Fat single-strand wick is not wicking as well. I could have cut my ends too short and left too little wick. I will probably stick with the figure 8, as it doesn't take much longer to wrap the wick and coil and the taste & vapor has always been consistent and great.

Just curious I seen a picture of the insulators melted on fb (user error maybe) I am thinking he did a .5 or lower. What ohms are you guys running your coils at? I am a sub ohm type of guy.

I do a 4 wrap of 30g on a double 3mm silica, usually end up around 1.1-1.3 ohms.
I usually go a little lower than that on gennies, but I seem to like this setup on the kayfun.
Melted insulators could also be caused by poor wicking causing excess heat, not necessarily the low ohm coil by itself. If there was enough juice flow, the insulators might have been able to handle it. This is pure speculation on my part of course.
